      That Fuzzy Feeling

I have a question for the group.

I learned LD many years ago but have serious issues with it. I finally decided to find a forum and ask for advice.

I wake up after a night of LD, and the whole world's fuzzy.

I have trouble at first telling if I'm really awake, or at least trouble relating to the World As We Know It.

Coming back to normal consciousness after waking takes almost two hours. The sensation is really unpleasant, like taking too much melatonin, a drug I haven't used in years.

I've had some successes learning control, but the afteraffects are really uncomfortable so I've been suppressing LD just to function during the day.

When I tried to push through the fuzziness, the sensation got stronger day after day.

Eventually I ended up in what I've heard called "The Witness", where you end up as an observer in your own life, waking or asleep.

If it wasn't so uncomfortable, I suppose it would be okay. Certainly it promotes a detached viewpoint anyway.

So, has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

Some info: I have Sleep Apnea, a sleep disorder that held me back for years before I got a CPAP machine.

I suppose that could have something to do with it.

Is fatigue after LD normal? Avoidable?

I personally know some people that have similar experiences as you. They report that LDing takes a slight toll on them, or can be a little exhausting. Almost like they were exercising in their sleep. As far as the mental effects, and being a little out of it for a couple hours, I can sort of relate. After a night of vivid dreaming, or LDing, the mind has worked very hard and has adjusted itself into that mental state of dreaming. When you wake up, it may take the mind awhile to adjust itself to waking life.

Usually when I wake up, my thoughts are really abstract, and I have a lot of weird thought patterns, and I just don't feel in reality, but that usually fixes itself after about 10 to 15 minutes. If you are seriously having a very difficult time adjusting to reality, if you are unsure whether you are in reality yet or not, that may be a whole different thing.

Also, sometimes I have a buzzing or lightheaded sensation sometimes after I wake up, like my mind was churning earlier. I don't know if that's what you are having. So I don't know what to say about your problems, if you call them problems. It depends on the severity of it.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

The closest thing I've had to that is snapping out of one of my LD's, and everything got extremely fuzzy (inside the dream), but i woke up with complete clarity.

I hope you can find a way to cope with it.
