      newbie question

      i am new here
and before starting reading the tutorials to start LD i want to know a thing
      does LD affect sleep ?
i mean, will we feel more tired after a night of sleep were we did have LD ?
does it harm our health in any way ? a night of sleep with LD will be less "productive" than a night without ?

this is my only concern, since most other questions that i did have i already found the answers in this forum...

ps: sorry for the possible bad english...

Hi there, and welcome to DreamViews!

I am not the most experienced lucid dreamer myself. However, through the wisdom and experience shared by my new friends in here i have learned that lucid dreams does NOT affect you normal sleep, you still sleep and dream, you are just aware of the fact that you are dreaming.

Speaking from personal experience however, i have come to notice that after a lucid dream i feel more energized and happy 1-2 weeks after just because of the experience and the joy.

So I would conclude that it's actually, psychologically speaking, more healthy than normal dreams.

Buhl is very right I have been practising lucid dreaming for more than 4 years now and I actually feel that my sleep is better those nights I do lucid dream.

And there was a man named Robert Monroe who had aware experiences in his sleep for more than 20 years and he wasn't harmed by it, let's just say that it had more positive effects than negative.
