How to stay in a dream after becoming lucid

I've had about 3 dreams now where I have realized I'm dreaming after performing reality checks but I keep waking up shortly after. I know that spinning is one way to stay in the dream but in the last dream I had today, I was sitting on my bed and I checked my left hand and it was so deformed it scared me and I tried to get up and spin around but didn't have enough time. Are there any other ways to keep myself in a lucid dream in case I end up in a situation where I can't spin ?

It is usually best to avoid getting stressed out and/or excited in a lucid dream as this usually ends the dream.

Other than that you could try rubbing your hands together. If you hands are deformed in your next dream (in which case focusing on them may not help) you could try doing a simple mental task such as basic mathematics. Example: 2 + 3 = 5 and so on.

Don't be scared to see you hand deformed. By the contrary. Have the intention of seeing your hand deformed. It's a sign that you're dreaming.

Once you realise you're dreaming take your time to look around and take in what you can see and feel in your surroundings. I know its hard because all you want to do is test out everything you can do, but practice makes perfect. Start with the small stuff whilst getting used to the basics of Lucid Dreaming, once you have more control over that then move on to the bigger shit. Best of luck!

Use dream stabilization RIGHT when you get into the dream, it's common for beginners to have this happen.
