Hey mate, for me, it has been very random but I put this down to a couple of things.
When I first started becoming interested in LD'ing I tried for a month to have one, then all of a sudden, 3 came alone within the space of two weeks. I had a 2 week dry spell, then had another 2. This happened in the months of September - October.
My point is, the more you want to LD and practice techniques before sleep and also RC'ing throughout the day; the more chance there is to LD.
I haven't been thinking about it much lately and I have only had one very brief LD last week.
My advice: keep thinking about LD'ing and keep RC'ing, however, do not stress yourself out. If you don't get lucid for a long time, don't think it is a failure, keep thinking positive.
The frequency of LD's varies from person to person.
