Question What to do after waking up from a failed lucid dream?

Sometimes I become lucid while dreaming but then it's not vivid at all, and I wake up after 30 seconds or so. I just feel myself going from a dream to my body, and at that moment it's very easy to hold the position in which I wake up.
So my question is: what do I do to become lucid again? Do I need to keep still and fall asleep again, or do I perform some sort of excerise. Or is there nothing you can do to achieve lucidity more easily at that point?

That's where you'd use the DEILD technique (Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream). DV has a DEILD tutorial you should check that out.

Basically though, the idea is that you hold still, keep relaxed and try not to open your eyes and keep your mind focused on going back into a lucid dream, remind yourself the whole time that you're about to go into a dream and that you must remember this. You'll end up back in a dream within a few seconds, up to a couple of minutes, but when done right you'll pretty much instantly end up back in.
DEILD is essentially a very short WILD, and while the dream you come out of doesn't have to be a lucid dream, it's brilliant for chaining lucid dreams when you fall out of them by accident.
