So next week I'll be waking up early (8AM) for work, as I'll be doing more morning shifts. Since I typically take afternoon naps on these days, once I'm off work, I'd like to make use of them and start LD'ing in them. A month or so back I had a lucid in one of my naps and think there could be some potential here. Any recommendations of how I can go about this successfully? Is there a certain amount of sleep I should get the night before or does that really matter? I plan on using the MILD and maybe SSILD techniques as I fall asleep for my naps. Thanks ! |

So far I find that naps are my best time to Lucid dream. One of my dream signs is not being able to see because of bright light in my eyes. So sleeping during the day often kicks off that DS. Also I have had some False awakenings that lead into Lucidity. You need to have a good RC ready for those FA's. I use the handless nose plug trick. |

Imagine a place where everything that can happen, does happen; where past, present, and future are all together; a kaleidoscope of worlds – form without substance, ripples upon ripples upon waves upon waves of pure experience – limitless worlds of possibility, existing beyond time ... This is the world ... we visit each night in our dreams.

I'm not sure if sleep the night before matters. In my naps when I get LDs I usually do a DILD, which works for me at least. |

WILD and WBTB naps is how i got almost all of my lucid dreams, i dunno how they work considering time and REM, all i know is that i have had most success with naps starting from 4 hours after waking up with my current weird sleeping schedule. |

I intended more something like a WBTB method, only that you do your nap and after waking up trying to WILD. |

I am mostly nocturnal, so my WILD naps indeed mostly ending up when there's night/early morning in my timezone, if that answers your question. |

I really like doing nap LDs, because I am very nocturnal and I love sleeping and hate being awake during the day, so it works great for me. If you are attempting it during the day, make sure the enviroment is quiet and soothing, I learned the hard way that leaving the TV on or external noises can intrude your dream. I am having trouble defining which method do I use, right before the nap I just say "Ok,lets go and Lucid Dream!" and as soon as I am in the dream I am fully aware. |

This is what I do to lucid dream from a nap. First, I go to bed and I usually wake up after an hour, usually without actually dreaming anything. Now I'm in this state of easily going back to bed, but I lay there with my eyes squinted. If I did dream before, I'll keep thinking about that. Soon, my body goes numb and is going to sleep without me being able to move anything. Now that I'm in that dark state of matter, I imagine the place I want to be by thinking of each object until I'm there. |

I work at night and will sleep for 3-4 hours once I make it home. I get up automatically to use the bathroom and will stay up for an hour before going back to bed. This is my usual time to have very lucid dreams. |

It sounds like everyone has their own ways when it comes to when and how to LD in naps. I guess I'll just experiment with it and see how all goes over here. |
