Question A couple of questions about Lucid Dreaming

Hello you all! I'm Gus, a beginner in the world of lucid dreaming, and I'd like to ask you a couple of questions. First I'd like to say that I hadn't any Lucid Dreams yet. So, to the questions.
The first one, while I was talking to a friend, he realized that he had a few moments where he became aware that it was a dream but didn't got a LD. It was like "Oh, this is a dream, cool, now let me back to my dream plot like nothing happened". I remember also having this one time. I thought it could be because we didn't knew about lucid dreaming (mine was when I was a child, and his was before he knew lucid dreams existed), but I've read that many children have lucid dream, so I guess they don't actually know the concept of a lucid dream. Anyway, why this happen? How can I avoid this?

And the second question is about my other friend, which I believe is a natural LDer. From what he tells me about his dream, he have some lucidity on them. He can make choices and stuff, but not actually make whatever he wants. So, is there a possibility that he is a natural? If so, how can he actually step onto full lucidity? Also he told me that some days ago he had a LD, where he tried to move something with his mind, and he did it, but after some seconds it went all black. I believe it was the end of his REM period, but could it be something else?

I apologize if I'm bothering you with these many questions, but it would be great if someone could answer them. Also forgive any mistakes on the text, english isn't my native language

I guess that's it, thanks in advance and regards.

Well, now that you know about lucid dreaming if you realize you are dreaming it shouldn't shift back into your normal dream plot, unless, you want it to. Because once you realize you're dreaming it's pretty much up to you what happens, with a few other factors playing in I suppose. Like sometimes you might feel excited and lose the dream prematurely, etc. And as for your friend if he can already realize he's dreaming without any practice, then I guess he could be a natural lucid dreamer. And if he can already make some choices then he just needs to work on control, I would suggest passive control. And as to why his dream went black I'd probably say that the dream just destabilized, and that he should work on some stabilizing techniques.

By definition, a lucid dream is a dream where the dreamer knows he is dreaming. As long as your friend knew it was a dream, regardless of control, then it was a lucid dream

I've read that many children have lucid dream, so I guess they don't actually know the concept of a lucid dream. Anyway, why this happen? How can I avoid this?
Many of us probably had some lucid dreams before, we just dont remember them because we never really put much importance to our dreams. Also, children get more REM sleep, so they tend to have more chances to get lucid (REM is the phase of sleep where most vivid dreams occur). Keep yourself informed about lucid dreaming, and try to learn as much as you can, and take them to heart.

So, is there a possibility that he is a natural? If so, how can he actually step onto full lucidity?
It is possible he is a natural if he has been having lucid dreams without really trying. I think the only way to achieve a high level of lucidity is to keep practicing and keep up your awareness in waking life so you will also have hi awareness in your dreams. But it doesn't really matter if someone is a natural or not. Lucidity is free for everyone to achieve, if you're willing to try. Even naturals need to put in some kind of motivation right?

I believe it was the end of his REM period, but could it be something else?
That is highly possible that he started to wake up. It could also be excitement, as it is one of the top causes of premature awakening, like Kraom stated.

Good luck, and if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
