      Gender switching in dreams?

      Hello,

      This is my second or third post on dreamviews and though I had recently wrote that I had lucid dreamed my entire life but I just wondered does any one in the forum change sex, race or even become an animal seeing things from multiple points of view- is that considered lucid if you are aware of the switch in your gender whether it is you or a character changing from man to woman nor vice versa ( even an animal's gender changing)? I am new to finding out the definitions and techniques and have a lot of questions plus I am going through a bit of difficult time so excuse my ignorance about LD. Any tips and help would be appreciated.

      I do quite a lot actually, my spirit form is the opposite gender as my human body so it's one of my most finely tuned skills. In fact while awake I am even able to project my spirit as a holographic insert into physical space, which has been perceived by psychic's present while I do.

      ok, tips...

      Although I have been doing this naturally my whole life I do have a few things I do that might help;

      first of all you have to know what being the opposite gender is actually like, and there are a few ways to do this. You can practice empathic surrogation, which means to observe the opposite gender and intuitively feel what it's like for them. Also I often talk to others about the differences between genders, which really helps me dissolve my predisposition to what life is like, and reconstruct it more accurately. The third is to ponder whether you might be any different if you were shifted, and to get to know that other as one possible view of yourself. Look into how actors method act, to totally become the other psychologically is what stabilizes the shift

      As far as producing the shift, it is best to commit the details of what your other body looks, feels, and act's like, to quasi-instinct, so that when you want to shift, instead of slowly morphing your body bit by bit, you can "pull the rabbit out of the hat" so to speak.

      I'm a transsexual so yeah the gender flipping thing is common, Well half the time in my dreams my body is a half-girl like real life, But the other half of the time I'm full female, I'm rarely male I was born male of course but it was a horrible experience, my dreams where I'm male are always horrible nightmares.

      Prior to my transition it was much more of a toss up of how my body would appear.

      As for begin a different animal, yep that happens sometimes it's not an every-night occurrence but they do happen. I've noticed I'm usually a crow, or a moth, maybe some sort of symbolism about that.

      I've tried turning into a male consciously during a lucid dream. Basically I didn't look at myself and just imagined I'd be a guy when I looked back down on my body. I've only done it two or three times though. And yes, I've become an animal in lucids as well. I've tried being a bird and a dog. The perspective was really weird but amazing, and being in their bodies felt so interesting. I've met some people who've done 360 vision in dreams as well, though i haven't tried that out yet.

      Oh yeah, and this is gonna sound really weird but I've become a tumbleweed in a lucid dream.

      Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      I switch genders or persons in dreams a lot - while I do have dreams of being myself, but a lot of my dreams I am not myself, and that's ok.

      At least in one of my recent dreams I think this was a device of my mind to try to distance myself from the dream, which was about a brutal murder literally, but not really (things were not what they appeared to be).

      In one of my weirdest dreams I was a giant fat goose in the middle of a golf filed, too fat to fly or waddle, just sitting there. I think this dream was trying to tell me that I am a silly goose, which I know I am.

      In a more recent dream I was a teenaged boy, whereas I am a middle aged woman in real life. I still don't know why I was a teenaged boy in that dream, but that's ok, too.

      I hear that some people are more consistently themselves in their dreams. I wonder whether that has something to do with them being more comfortable with themselves. Not that I am not comfortable with myself, I just like to struggle with myself a lot, and I figure that's part of who I am, and I should accept that. I am a very contradictory person in some ways, though quite consistent in my contradictions in other ways.
