      First Lucid Dream Experience

Ok so i decide to have an afternoon nap. As i'm waking up from this i suddenly realise that i cant get up out of my bed, my entire body is completley numb. I immediately come to the conclusion that this is sleep paralysis and start telling myself that to calm me down. Suddenly i'm becoming pushed into my bed, it feels as though a ghost or a person is on top of me pushing me with all their force, I become a little scared at this point not gonna lie but keep telling myself it's sleep paralysis and try to force myself get out of bed. After this happens for a few seconds i use all of my will power and force myself up and out of bed, thinking to myself 'thank god thats over and i'm awake' not realisng at this point I'm actually still dreaming. I walk into the kitchen where my little brother is making food for me, immediately i think something is very strange as he never makes food for me, i look up a the clock on our wall and it's the exact same time in the afternoon as i decided to have a nap, now i defiantly know something's wrong, just as I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm still dreaming Ii begin to wake up and am sucked out of my dream.

Anyone else experienced this sort of Inception before? I was surprised when i woke up and found that i forced myself out of paralysis, most people say that they just lie there for 20 minutes not being able to do anything. Is it Normal?

Through me through a complete loop. Sorry about the quality of writing, still pretty new to this, just thought i'd share it.

What you experienced were classic examples of sleep paralysis and false awakenings. As for forcing yourself out of sleep paralysis as opposed to being stuck in it, it really depends on what kind of person you are and how calm you remain during the process. I am rather impressed you managed to stay so calm during your first sleep paralysis, especially one soo eventful. My first experience in sleep paralysis was short and rather uneventful so the transition to a dream was smooth and pleasent. Your ability to keep a level head is what helped you skip through sleep paralysis quickly, even if you skipped into a dream instead of waking up as youwanted/expected to. Had you freaked out you may have been stuck in sleep paralysis while your body and brain reconnected and began communicating again, which can take a few minutes sometimes.
My Lucid Dreaming Motto - "I have walked upon the the surface of a burning star. Observed events so infinitesimal and instantaneous that they can barely be described as having occurred at all. You... you're just a dream character. And this world's most powerful dream character poses no more threat to me than it's smartest cupcake." - Dr. Manhattan (kinda)

      Congrats on first lucid dream!
Even though it was short, we all start somewhere, it will improve as you get more skilled.
The dream type you experienced is called false awakening, it starts with one awakening in the bed in the dream, and it often copies the environment from where you fall asleep in waking life, sometimes pretty accurately too. It's great opportunity to get lucid and i would suggest doing reality check whenever you wake up if you have those.
The body going numb was normal sensation of going to sleep, not sleep paralysis, from there you did transitioned into false awakening dream and were dreaming about having sleep paralysis i think. Sleep paralysis is rare experience unless you have sleep disorder of same name, http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html , i had false awakening dreams of being paralyzed myself when i was starting out and didn't know truth about sleep paralysis.
