Is this a lucid dream? (First experience)

Yesterday, i was exhausted and slept from 5 pm to 10 pm. Then woke up to eat. As i was not sleepy i went to bed in 00:00 and listened to some music and shearched the web on my iphone.
Then in 2 am i started feeling very sleepy and put the iphone aside. After just 10 min I felt goose bumps all over my body. After 2 sec of those i started hearing a loud noise. Like the one when you blow your nose and the pressure in your ear changes, but constant. That sudden event woke me up frightened. Then i went to sleep again. Again goose bumbs, again noise, again woke me up. Then i decided to let it go and not be scared.
This time i started seeing random stuff (the noise was still on) then suddenly i was in my room. The room was lit up. The amount of detail was amazing. Although, I noticed that courtains were from the kitchen not my room. I was trying to do OBEs before but failed. And now that i realised i was dreaming i looked back onto the bed and saw MYSELF!! I got an adrenaline rush. Not just because i got scared but because i realised i made it (at least i thought i did). It woke me up and i was breathing heavily. Im 16 y old boy but was scared like a little baby.

This is the first time i experienced this, and i am willing to do this again. Can somebody explain what this was and has anybody had anything like this?

      (sry for my bad english)

      Congratulations!!

Yep, that was a lucid dream! It was also an OBE - as far as I'm concerned (and a lot of other people around here too) they're the same thing - an OBE is just a special kind of lucid dream where you imagine that you've left your body and it really feels like you're roaming free of it. The fact that you saw the wrong curtains tells you that you weren't literally seeing your actual room - it was a dream room.

      And welcome to Dreamviews!!

the goosebumps and loud noise that you had is caused by sleep paralysis.

Im not sure if this actually was SP because i could move if i wanted to.. For example when i first started to hear the sound i immediately woke up and moved my blanket to my throat (hahah)

Any tips on how to get longer lucid (my actual dream lasted like 5 sec) and how to not get scared of everything around me? I tried rational thinking but doesnt help.

EDIT: now I looked a bit more trough SP on the forum and yes maybe it was it, just we're calling it wrong REM Atonia?

There's a lot of misinformation on REM atonia aka sleep paralysis. If you wanna know more about it, read through this link:

      *On topic
Your first lucid dream was very similar to mine. I had also been sleeping a few hours ealier and was on my computer at night untill I got ver tired and finaly went to sleep.
I have to experiment a bit with that!

Here's a link to a guide on dream stabilization:

And congratulations on your first lucid dream!

ps. If rational thinking doesn't help with your fear perhaps meditation or mantras can help you?

The sleep, computer, sleep obviously works. I don't usually have SP, I actually never had it before but last night (this is a night after the lucid) happened again. Sadly I fell asleep before WILDing. But interestingly when I get into the REM Atonia, my eyes like reealy relax and go up. Strange feeling... Also I feel more awake than ever and my heart beats like crazy.. I'm now going to practice this tehnique and maybe you should try it too guys
