I suppose any reality check has equal chances of working, it all depends on you. I would suggest not doing RCs that are more visual in nature though. The thing is, visual RCs tend to be easily manipulated by the dream or subconscious and can be easier to miss. And even if you realize them, they might not have a bigger impact on you as say, when you plug your nose and can still breathe. I mean, the tactile reality checks personally work better for me because once they don't work, there is that bigger 'OH!' moment than when I would just see a body feature that is not normally there. But if it works well for you, go for it!
