Smile Need to find a long-term goal for my lucid dreams, any ideas?

      Hey there

I would like to have this long term goal for my lucids. Something I can 'train' evertime I become lucid, no matter where I find myself in the dream. I want to do something original and something that really catches me. I have thought about this myself but it seems that I'm not that creative when it comes to dream goals :p

      Any ideas from you guys?
(I know some people build their own dream base but I'm not really in to that, so anything except that would be great!)

      Thanks!

      Yo.
For really long term, try creating/visiting an persistent world and having fun adventures in it, getting dream friends, or even do shared dreaming if you believe in it!
And if you want something more local, try mastering some ability, i am for example going for transformation.
We also have a thread with all kinds of goals to do: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...cid-dream.html
      Have fun~

      Mastering an element!

For me it's waterbending. If you're familiar with, or if you like Avatar The Last Airbender or Legend of Korra, then this long term goal would be perfect for you. I personally watch video clips of different waterbending techniques or moves and I would try to recreate it during my lucids. They are very satisfying and the best thing about it is you have to really do it and train yourself, and not just the usual dream magic where you think of it and it pops up.

And as what Checker said with a consistent dream world. That's a great idea as well. You can try to create your very own dream world (perhaps your own 'dream island' to make it a bit easier), wherein you can add more details everytime you go lucid. You can even sketch it out beforehand in real life so you have blueprints, and then create them in your dream.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Hey there paigeyemps! The funny thing is that waterbending is one the things I always do when I become lucid! In my last lucid dream I was in this kitchen and a woman learned me how to levitate a ball of water out of the sink. When I did, some epic music played as in somekind of videogame when you learn a new skill :p Later in the dream I also levitated snow and made quite a big snowball. In one of my past dreams I once could bend a whole pool though...
Do you have any tips for me for waterbending?

      Thanks!

      Holy crap another waterbender! Welcome, child. :}

I would suggest looking at vids and perhaps writing a list of goals specific to waterbending. I'll share some of mine which i wrote before (i've accomplished them now):
      •suspend rain in mid-air
      •create a whirlpool
      •extract water from plants
      •heal a wound
      •bloodbend

So basically you want a concrete list of goals to keep you on track and motivated. Daydream about how you plan on doing them, like rough practice in your head. What helps motivate me even more is planning on duelling with other benders (DCs) in the future so I can use the waterbending moves I've learned. I've duelled a few times, and it was very very rewarding and it felt so legit. x)

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

While I have yet to become lucid I always thought that being a super hero would be fun. Train to learn new abilities. And come up with new and cool moves. You can also come up with situations in which you must fight crime. On a side note you could always be the crime and be a villain instead. (Sorry if a little unoriginal I tried XD )

fight everyone in sight with no dream powers. Give them powers and things that would be hard to fight. You can only use your body to the extent that you can use it in waking life. So now when you go into a dream you are sparring!

Call someone out and just hang out with the DCs, keep a DC as a friend and just do whatever he wants. Go on adventures, play dream video games, help him with his work.
