Question Some questions from a beginner

Hello, this is my first post and I was wondering over a few things,
      I have had about a dozen LDs but they are kinda short and I have only been able to enter them through WILDs;

      1. How do I make the LD clear after you enter it and what can I do to make it last longer?
I have tried staying in bed and relaxing for a little bit before getting up and that seems to have worked the best so far,
but it still doesn't last for more than tops 1 or 2 minutes.

      2. How do you experience your dream body in contrast to your physical one while in a LD?
I find that the control is slightly different, in a LD I cant move if I try to apply any strength to it
but I can move very easily and even run if I do it in an effortless way without any physical strength behind it.

      3. Does anyone have any basic ideas about what I can do that's not too advanced?
I have been able to float and fly on a low altitude, I have also been able to stop the movements of a dc by saying "stop!"

      Hello, and welcome to DV!

Here is a link to the DV tutorial on dream stabilization and clarity improvement: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

It is interesting that you perceive your dream body as acting different from real life in dream. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule on that. Different people LD differently, and a lot of it is based on expectations.

What you will perceive as simple or hard really is based on your expectations of what you would find simple, but here are some ideas: expect to find a door behind you when you turn around, then turn around, expect something or someone or some place specific on the other side of the door, then open the door. Also expect to find something specific in your pocket, and then reach into your pocket to get it.

good ideas I will try with expecting something and then turn around, I have tried to get to different places through doors but since I wake up in my home when I open a door what is normally behind them is still there so I usually just open and close the door until I find a new place, sometimes the room on the other side just change color thanks for your reply

Also you said you can make others stop in your dream, have you also talked with dream characters while you are lucid?

A thing on my to do list: in my next lucid I intend to find some chocolate in my pocket and then reach into my pocket fish out what is in there (hopefully chocolate) , and then I intend to taste what I got out of my pocket (and if all went well I will eat some chocolate in my dream).

      For the length question -

What I have found is that ignoring stability is the best way to stabilize a dream. If I become lucid, I instantly distract myself be walking, touching, and exploring my dream state. Every time I have told myself "Oh shoot, I need to stabilize!", I ironically lose it. Next time you are lucid, just enjoy the moment. If you set low expectations on length, your mind worries less about waking and you will stay in it longer. At least thats how my brain works.

      Good luck!
