LD and Science: Work of LaBerge

Anyone interested in LDs, and have not read Stephen LaBerge's books, or attended his trial studies, seminars, camps, or even been a lab rat....DO SO!

I just spent 10 days at his summer Dream Camp!
Not only does he share his 20+ years of research and lab studies he has conducted at Stanford, he even lets you in on some secrets...I have not found them here on this forum...yet.
The Nova Dreamer is also pretty neat...he's hoping to have a new model with more features within the year. It also shows you what your sleep pattern was, REM patterns and how many times you were 'signaled' during REM periods.

Seeker mentioned his work to prove Real Time LD with moving the eyes in certain patterns. He also has proven that "Time" is essentially the same in LDs. Lab rats would give a signal once they were Lucid, and then start the tests: 10 seconds, One MInute, etc. and they were dead on to pretty dang close...for estimations (when compared to waking results).
Sex in LDs was another topic studied in the sleep labs...Those were some hilarious studies! Especially the accounts of the lab rats going out and trying to find 'someone to get laid' "In the interest of science"

Check him out if ya haven't yet...Well worth it!
has a website too and always looking for dream study participants.

      Hang Lucid!

There's nothing I'd love more than to go to one of those. Unfortunately they're US$2400 or something, and with the exchange rate plus plane fares that's an absolute shirtload of money. Not worth it

I would like to hear those secrets.

I've read his book and browsed around lucidity.com some. I wonder, has he ever visitted us at DreamViews? I suspect he might be a little too busy

I would love to attend the workshop in Hawaii! I would really like to meet the guy and shake his hand. Although I knew about lucid dreaming before reading EWOLD, it was that book that gave me the shove to really try to develop my lucidity. Dr. LaBerge, thank you and have a muffin!

Yeah, I had been to the site once and saw the camp in Hawaii being advertised - I was so seriously considering it (since I'm due for a vacation, who isn't). But when I saw the dates I had realized that I JUST missed it by like 3 days And so goes the story of my life.

I hope he continues to have them, though - I thought it was a one-time thing. I also didn't realize that he was still going around on "tour" with this.

      Thanks for sharing the info.

Middlerun says " that's an absolute shirtload of money. Not worth it "

That's too bad you think like that.
I use to think like that too...when out of grad skool...and beaucoup in debt...then I turned things around and started believing in "manifestation"...we create our world thru our thoughts.

I then thought to myself, "Gee, that if I worried about having TOO much $$$$$$?"

I took Silva Mind Control course, Attended Robert Monroe's program, and now Lucidity camp.

Silva was the turning point: (then I could easily afford Monroe and LaBerge programs) I started believing and having faith that I could get what I wanted, and without going into debt ever again, and just 'programming' myself to recognize the Right opportunity when it comes by. But it doesn't fall from the sky while you sit on your butt.

      WATCH WHAT YA WISH FOR!
In six mos I was OUT of debt (nearly 40K USD).
6 yrs later, well....let's just say...I have everything I have desired...relationship, career flying(which I work when and because I want to work - flying is actually fun), homes on the beach, free travel worldwide,...etc....and I Don't believe in debt...nor mortgages (ok, so it's Not the American way... )

LD is just one method towards manifestation. If you have achieved LD, then use it:-)

The only reason You feel you are "poor" is because You have decided for yourself that That is where you what to be. It is just as easy to think otherwise

      OK Enough Lecture:-)

I Highly recommend this book (e-book free) very thought-provoking -cut the mystical crap:
      The Science of Getting Rich:
      http://www.aumara.com/tsogr/

      As a man thinketh:
      http://www.asamanthinketh.net/index.html

and of course the classic of Napolean Hill : Think and Grow Rich

      Oh yeah, and BTW:
Stephen LaBerge has got to be one of the Coolest, MOST Down to Earth Fellas you'll ever meet! He is NOT the typical arrogant snoot who thinks he's discovered sliced bread.
He will listen to you, work with you one on one, and even take the time to tailor methods to get YOU to LD!
      He did for me!
The guy Knows LD, and one of his goals is to bring LD to everyone in the very simplist / efficient method possible.

His program is also gearing towards some Graduate programs where they turn and focus on indepth subjects. The Dreamcamps right now are an overview of the world of LD.

      Think positive, and live it.

      Holy crap!

Ok, curiosity got me to follow your links and download the books - I'll have to put them in line behind the other two I'm currently reading, which brings me to my opening statement:

I found my way to a page that gave me a quick rundown of the Silva's theory/method/etc. and there's a strong link between what he teaches and this book about brainwaves I'm currently reading. I've already been finding links between this book and techniques on this site - but now there's the same link with this Silva dude!! It's like a picture is starting to come together now! And this picture doesn't seem to include religion, scary thought for some, I'm sure. But, oh well.

Anyway, I don't see myself believeing in the power of "crystals" or "magnetic fields" or stuff like that anytime soon - but there definitely seems to be undiscovered territory right inside our own heads!

I think he's using the term "lab rats" to refer to human volunteers for the experiments.

      Thank ya Tygrhawk!

Yes indeed..."lab rats" is just academia slang for human subjects. otherwise, it is just 'rats' or 'rats used in laboratory studies'

      and Tygr,...btw..HE is a SHE

I might be motivated to fork over $2400 for one of these things. A family hookup gets me free airfare anyway. I've been reading LaBerge's stuff and it's definitely some of the most worthwhile lucid dream reading I've picked up, mainly because it's not confusing. I can only imagine what kind of help a full 10 day experience might be.

      Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.
