Hello. This is the first post I have made on here, but that's not the point of this thread. |

You've probably read a bunch of those "scary" sleep paralysis stories. Lots of people try to make "sleep paralysis" seem like one of the scariest things you can experience. I do WILDs very often and have never once experienced anything frightening. If you can actually get yourself into the state prior to having a lucid dream, instead of being scared that something might happen, you should be happy and embrace the strange sensations knowing that you're about to go lucid. I think you're ready. Just try your best using WBTB method and when you enter the prior-dream state, just keep your eyes closed and try not to focus on anything or think to hard. |

Treasure yourself.
If you are afraid of WILDing, you also might try another technique. |

Here you go: |

Thank you, everyone. |
|
I'm not exactly scared of WILDing itself, but I'm scared of the actual dream. |
|
Tip on that: Focus on other things and do something you like. Also, i've found it's easier (at least for me) to not think about something in dreams. |
|
Alright. |

If you want to go for sure, let me tell you what I use. Maybe my dreams are more violent a little than the average, but these always worked: |

"Victory loves preparation."
Awesome, thanks! |

Maybe because I DILD I am missing something here, but if you are lucid and know you are dreaming, whats to fear? |
|
Ok, firstly, lucidity is just self-awareness, AKA knowing you're dreaming, and not different things. Dream control is just a bonus. Now, there is nothing to fear, it is all in your head, and you can control it. In fact, since you're scared of heights, keep going on heights and you'll stop fearing them. Next time, jump from a tall place and land safely. |
