      Lucid Dream Nightmares

I'm new to the world of Lucid Dreaming, I'm very intrigued by the concept. I have heard wonderful things about the experience of Lucid Dreams, and their benefits. I know that attaining lucidity in a dream makes a one more conscious of their dream, making it seem more like reality, but the thought of experiencing a lucid state of being chased through the woods by a crazed chainsaw wielding maniac scares the hell out of me. So I wanted to know if any of you veteran Lucid Dreamers ever had an experiences similar to this. I have not yet tried to induce a lucid state, and I won't until I learn more about this phenomenon. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am not a veteran nor have I had a single Lucid Dream but what I can do is give you advice.

You will probably get nightmares on your lucid journey but you should always remember that nothing can hurt you, its just a dream, don't let nightmares put you off because you will miss out on amazing experiences that outweigh the horrible nightmares you may get along the way.

I too am only a novice, but you have nothing to be afraid of! For me personally nightmares have actually helped me in attaining lucidity. For example ill be having a standard nightmare in a non-lucid dream, but when something scary happens it makes me realise that this must be a dream. Therefore you can take control and alter the dream. If you read my Dream Journal you'll find plenty of examples of this happening. So yeah you can definitely turn it into an advantage, and definitely don't be put off by any scary stories you may read along the way. Nothing in your dreams can hurt you, it's only what your mind is creating. Best of luck!

I seriously just made a video on my YouTube channel on this topic.
On your journey of lucid dreaming, you will encounter many things that will frighten you and will terrify you ex. (sleep paralysis and vivid nightmares)
Lucid dreaming however has helped me conquer my fears and made me a stronger individual. You shouldn't be afraid of lucid dreaming, because it is an awesome thing to learn. I hope this helped you!

If you are Lucid you can escape any nightmare. When i was a kid i use to do it this alot. I never had understanding of it, but whenever i came into a dangerous situation I would ask myself ''is this a dream'', and i would develop a sixth sense or something and could just wake up.

But yeah dont worry you can handle it ez..
