False Awakening almost made me Lucid

Had a False Awakening this morning that tricked me into making me think I was awake. I suddenly found my self sitting on my bed and it made me wonder why I was sitting up. I did a Reality Check "Nose Plug" technique. It worked right? Then I realized I was dreaming but the false awakening was some how preventing me to become Lucid. I was trying control the dream by releasing an energy blast and blasting my window into pieces because I still had a dream like feeling, but the false awakening was far in depth that it tricked my dream body into thinking I was awake. Is there any way to make your self Lucid in case something like this happens again? Everything was extremely vivid in good detail my room was a little stretched and more wider than usual, etc. And it was just a crazy experience. Hope I made made any sense, it was really confusing on why I couldn't control my dream, etc.

Well you've got two routes you could go to get out of that situation. You could have actively told yourself it was a dream, think about it for a while and consider the consequences of it, do this long enough and you should build confidence in yourself and the dream.

The other way is by tricking the dream into thinking you are something you're not, try to vividly imagine yourself as a wizard or so, and live into the character until you the dream gives in.

Personally I like to use the first method since I am quite good at controlling my dreams anyways, but it's always fun to be creative and try to trick the dream.
