      Smile Thank you, DreamViews

This morning I woke up from a lovely lucid dream feeling giddy and thankful. I realized I've been allowing myself to become frustrated because I hadn't had a LD for 2 weeks, and stopped to think about that for a moment.

My first lucid dream came to me spontaneously last April. Over the next year I had three more, only one of significant length. Since I joined DV a few weeks ago, I've had 9. A quick look at my dream journal showed me I already achieved one of my goals and didn't even realize it -- and I hadn't just become lucid two nights in a row, I did it 4 nights in a row.

I probably chose the most difficult time in my life to learn this skill (I share a bed with my 6-month old son) and through it all I've been able to come to DV and combat my frustration by learning about a new induction method or listening to a podcast.

Thank you, DV community. All of you, from the seasoned veterans writing tutorials and giving advice to other new people like me asking questions and discussing problems. I only hope that I'll be able to return the favor and eventually help others the way you've all helped me.

A 6-month old son? You should continue with your dream journal, maybe some of your future (non-lucid or lucid) dreams would make, with some tweaks, fine Bed time stories for your Son And not least ofc congrats on your progress!

What a wonderful post! Congratulations on all of your amazing success lately, particularly with a new baby. This is quite an achievement. I don't recall having many dreams at all when our kids were that age. (I'm not even sure I remember much sleep of any kind. )

To your continued success! And congratulations on the little one.

Great idea Oceandrop, I bet some of these dreams will make great stories. Maybe he'll learn to LD as a kid and not have to struggle through it like me.

Thanks Canis! One benefit to having a baby is WBTB is not a problem at all for me...

Yeah, I really like Oceandrop's idea about maybe one day revisiting your dream journal from this time period with your child. Who knows? Maybe he'll be a dream enthusiast himself. It's definitely possible -- my 4-year-old likes to tell me his dreams and every couple of months he'll even LD!

And even if he doesn't get into dreaming himself, you'll probably enjoy reviewing them one day. I find that dreams are markers for nostalgia. It's kind of like hearing songs that played on the radio when you were a child. They can take you back to a certain time and place in your life. I had my first lucids last summer and now that it's gotten hot I find myself thinking of them often.

As your son grows older, you'll love the new version of him... but you'll still look back fondly on those days when he was the tiny thing he is now!

Heh, you've got that right. With infants, we always had the "W" part covered. It was the "BTB" part that was sometimes trickier.

Yea, dream journals are a must. Be as detailed as possible. As time goes on your dreams will be more detailed and you will be able to recall it better.

You already have returned the favor. By being here, posting your experiences, asking your questions. The more we think about lucid dreaming, the better. So, Thank YOU
