      Lucid Dream with No Control

I've been having this same dream for years now, it changes but only slightly. I may have it anywhere from 6 to 12 times a year. There are so many questions I have about it but I can't seem to find all of the answers... Each time I dream this dream, I know right from the start that I'm dreaming and that this movie is going to play out without my control.

The dream starts with myself running down the street. It isn't explicitly said that some random corporation is seeking me out and trying to kill me but it is known right as the dream starts. I run into a garage parking building that is attached to another building, probably ones you might seen in a downtown area. I see an elevator and I start running toward it thinking that is where I need to go to be safe. All of a sudden as I am about 100 yards away, the elevator opens and a nameless man in a black suit steps out and starts to shoot at me. I duck behind a car as the man is chasing toward me firing off his pistol. He gets about 3 car lengths away and is still shooting at me. I keep ducking behind cars as he is chasing me and this happens for some time until I get inside a vehicle and bust out of the other side and pull out my own handgun that I forgot about. As I pull the trigger I realize it is a watergun and I knew it would be a water gun because I've had this dream before, but I have to play it out. He then shoots at me and I duck narrowly missing a gunshot wound. I charge him, pull out a knife and stab him. As I am very close to him I am able to see his face, each time his face becomes someone different I know each dream. It is always a man and it is always someone I was or am good friends with. I tell him I'm sorry for what I've done and that I'm going to get him to safety and seek medical care for him. I drag him to the garage ramp nearby but as I'm dragging him up, the ramp begins to become smaller and smaller until eventually only a single person can fit. He tells me to go on without him and I tell him again, I'm very sorry and leave him behind. I reach the top of the ramp and it turns out to be a manhole. I push the manhole cover off and climb to the top. I'm now standing on a suspension bridge loaded with a cars parked every which way. I start walking down the bridge and there are other people on the bridge. A man on a bicycle is floating in the air backwards with a forced smile as he rides by me. There are others standing around, looking as if they are all being forced to smile. I see a van with the back opened and an old man and woman standing on each side of the van. They tell me to come over and I do. At this point, I know what is about to happen and I want so badly to not go to the van. I've had this dream many times and my anxiety level starts to sky rocket because I know what will happen. I step in front of the van and I stare at a little brown box. The old woman tells me to go ahead and open the box. No matter how much I yell at myself to not open the box I still do. And so I open the box. I stare into darkness. Then a hand, reaches out and pulls me into the darkness and I feel nothing turmoil for a lengthy amount of time. Sometimes I wake up with sweats, sometimes I don't. But I really don't want to have this dream again, help?

don't be afraid of it. remember that the dream world is your own private universe and nothing can actually harm you. i had a similar problem with recurring nightmares and on one such occasion became lucid. i promptly turned around and laughed at the figure chasing me. he chuckled heartily and then left. expectation is a big part of dream control. expect something funny or friendly to be inside the box and that is what you get. you control the dream world, not the other way aroind.
