      Hands tip

I'm a semi-pro lucid dreamer, but I have to tell you. The looking at your hands in the dream tip was one of the best things I've ever read. This completely changed my clarity for the better. Thank you to who ever posted that tip!

Hey Notalone, can you describe what typically happens when you look at your hands like this?

95% of the time when you look at your hands in dreaming state, you may see something different. Such as more fingers on your hand or lets, and even your hand passing through your other hand etc. At least that's what I have read in most of the lucid dreaming tips. And yes, I did indeed see my hands were different when I was in the dream state.

In addition, if you spend some time looking at your hands once you are lucid but if your dream was not clear enough, looking at one's hands helps stabilize the dream. I think it helps one focus on details and calm down and such. During my most recent lucid, my dream was not very clear, so I remembered to stabilize by looking at my hands, and at first my hands were shaky in that lucid dream out of some reason, but then they stopped shaking as I stared at them, and when I then raised my eyes from my hands, the rest of the dream became much clearer.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

The hands tip is probably most effective because you never really notice your hands in dreams and even more so because of all the emphasize placed on it by the dreaming community. You pretty much know you're dreaming before you even spot any inconsistencies with your hands.
