      Question Lucid dreaming questions

hello! I've never had a lucid dream before so I have some questions!

1.)I've heard people say not to look in mirrors in lucid dreams, because the image in the mirror might be scary. Is that true?

2.) Can you control EVERYTHING in lucid dreams? For example can you say that you want a celebrity you idolize to appear and they will?

3.) Which is the best dreaming method for beginners?

4.) If you look at a clock while lucid and look away, will it change?

Thank you for taking time to answer these! 

The image won't always be frightening, but it can be.

2.) Can you control EVERYTHING in lucid dreams? For example can you say that you want a celebrity you idolize to appear and they will?
For the most part, yes. Calling out a person's name is one method of making him/her appear. However, you might not have total control every time.

3.) Which is the best dreaming method for beginners?
Many users say a DILD is best, but it really depends. You should check out the tutorials for details. I recommend DILD, WILD, or DEILD for starters.

4.) If you look at a clock while lucid and look away, will it change?
      Usually.

Dream occurances aren't as predictable as people say. For example, some people say you cannot feel pain in dreams. While this is true for some, many others (myself included) have felt pain in dreams.

I've never really had a lucid before, so you might be better off following other members' advice, but I hope this helps!

What is a WILD and a DILD and all those? I heard about the terms but I'm just clue less. Also what's a DC? Sorry for all the questions.

A WILD is a wake initiated lucid dream, where you fall asleep without loosing awareness.
A DILD is a dream initiated lucid dream, where you regain awareness somete during a dream, after a time period spent in a non lucid dream, but then followed by the realization that this is a dream.
A DC is a dream character, which is any person or other entity or animal you may interact with in a dream.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one

Hi guys I just subscribed to this forum because I have a question. My question is how do you grow out of not being scared when you wake up in sleep paralysis and you begin your out of body experience? Getting into the OBE state isn't hard I can do at anytime when I sleep but it freaks me out because it's so hard to move when I get out of my body. I literally try to stand up but it's like my legs don't work and that's when I start seeing things standing at my doorway watching me. That's when I decide that I've had enough and always renenter my physical body and go through the distortions. Having an OBE is amazing and I thinking it could be a great experience if I could just get off the floor and get away from the demon that watches me. It's kind of like I'm in insidious or something.

1: It depends on what you expect to see. It may look scary, it might not.
2: Yes, you can but it can take some effort.
3: It's different for every individual, but you should probably be striving to achieve a dild as a beginner. How you accomplish it can vary but I recommend the reality check method.
4: It depends on what you expect and whether or not your brain remembers what was previously on the clock. For most people clocks change, but it doesn't always. The more stable, consistent, and realistic the dream, the less often it will change
My Lucid Dreaming Motto - "I have walked upon the the surface of a burning star. Observed events so infinitesimal and instantaneous that they can barely be described as having occurred at all. You... you're just a dream character. And this world's most powerful dream character poses no more threat to me than it's smartest cupcake." - Dr. Manhattan (kinda)
