knowing I will have an LD

Something I have noticed and want to see if this is a common experience. Normally I practice DILD and have a lucid dream about once a week. Many times I just know that on a particular night I'm going to have a lucid dream. I just have a feeling I am ready for it. I am wondering if it is my subconsious telling me, or if my determination is causing it to happen subconsiously. I cant really manufacture the feeling to make LDs happen.... it is more just knowing tonight is the night, so it doesnt feel like it is me causing it.

I recognize that feeling, it is a pretty bizarre and almost magical atmosphere in the air and for some reason you have that feeling that "I will become lucid tonight... I know it...".

I believe that consistent practice will inevitably give you a certain excitement and motivation, and if you feel that excitement then you may also feel that you could become lucid at any moment from there, and this certainty will make lucidity easier to achieve, since you believe in it so much.

Happens to me quite often as well. I guess that it may just be an idea that just appears spontaneously in your mind and forces you to think about it. And when you think about lucid dreaming, chances are that you will have one.

Laurelindo, you described it! It is an almost magical atmosphere in the air....yes, that is exactly what it is like. A tingly feeling sort of. Salsashark, I guess three of us having this feeling means it isnt an unusual experience. I just am not sure if thinking it causes it , or if I really get a message from the subconscious ahead of time.
