Unhappy I watch my dreams, I don't take part in it?!! help

I have started my journal 5 days now, my dream recall has improved, but here is what I noticed,

      - in most of my dreams i'm just a consciousness (third person gaming) observing the dream in various angles, now the dream could be about me, and I observe myself do things (or control myself like a video game), or I'm not even in it.

surprisingly those few dreams where I'm myself (first person), my dreams are more realistic and I recall better.
i have decided to make a reality check on "video game, movie or visualizing my self in 3rd person (daydreaming)" in addition to my regular list, any tips or suggestions?

      - my dreams are hyper-unrealistic and all made up: i'm a robot, fighting giant burning worms while flying, owning a space ship, galactic war...etc (these like mentioned above, 3rd person view).. and my subconscious doesn't even bother questioning it? disappointed at myself. especially when I read how others realize subtle changes in their dreams : "bigger TV", "different pavement",..etc

note: I love video games, anime and manga : these have messed my subconscious up.

      about me:
I wake up at the end of sleep cycles, 3 times per a night (no alarm needed), and I recall my dreams about 70%

2 times I noticed im dreaming and I woke up instantly, but they were at the end of my sleep cycle, i.e. having several dreams and the last one I realize i'm dreaming and I wake up.

edit: its been 2 days doing ADA, and my reality check is intensifying my awareness (how did I get here) and countingfingers

p.s. I searched this subject, but didn't find anything useful
      appreciate anything

I think your reality checks are too impersonal. you are "check on video game, movie or visualizing my self in 3rd person "

You need to do more personal approaches. You need to learn awareness in the real world. (not video games), and you need to do reality checks based on reality( not about video games).

If you've read lucid dreaming stuff people do reality checks on checking their hands, checking their mirror reflection, and other real stuff of the real world. I wouldn't reality check about Mario Brothers. Well i guess i could like if i find myself inside a mario game then i realize i'm dreaming but that's not humanistic. I do reality checks on my hands and stuff.

So yeah Video games and stuff have messed you up because you're not aware of the real world. If you want to do better, do less video gaming and focus more on awareness and meditation or something.

You can do video games in your real life for bit of time, but if you're in that fictional gaming and anime all the time, you are not aware of the real world. I know this cause i used to play video games and lose track of the world.

Go out to the park, go out look at the trees, rocks, mountains... put your cellphone(i'm guessing you have one cause many young people these days can't live without them)down and just explore the environment. look at how things are. textures, smells etc.

You gotta learn to calm yourself. That's also one way statbilize your lucids. You said you wake up instantly. well yeah you too excited. cause in real life all your hobbies are really not letting you be calm.

In fact many people who lucid, start getting into meditation because meditation and awareness is the key.
I also used to watch TV till late, now i'm turning it off at 8pm and then i just do quiet reading or thinking.

      hey thanks for the reply,

you see i have a condition called "maladaptive daydreaing" where I daydream alot

as for the reality checks, I meant I decided to add those in addition to others im doing, and I mean I will do RC every time I think about or see those, my method of RC is (As mentioned) is asking myself how I got here and counting my fingers.

since my dreams are anything but real, I have trouble finding any dreamsigns,
currently I'm doing the training in "Exploring the world of dreaming" mentioned, about designating few things in a day and do an RC every time u see it, like "a red car", "everytime I handle money", "I hear a phone ring", so over all i have about 8-9 things that make me do RC in a day, and I do RC about 20-30 times aday, i must say.

but ill definetly take up your advice, and try to be more real in life and control my daydreaming more
