      False Awakening - Real?

      So I have a question;

      Just last night I had my most recent (and in awhile) sleep paralysis episode.
      So I'm going to go into quite a bit of detail, but I seriously appreciate ANY help.
      On Friday I go out, get quite drunk, end up spending the night at my boyfriends and on Saturday I wake up, we're up at a reasonable time, and then Saturday night I get stick, I'm up late and have trouble sleeping, but eventually I get to sleep. Sunday night rolls around and here it is 3 o' clock a.m. and i'm FINALLY getting to sleep, and then this is where things get weird.
      I'm laying on my back, I know... I usually never do this, I'm sooo tired, and then all of a sudden I see myself on my desk (I'm a college student, live in a dorm) So I'm not out of body, but I am sort of... looking down, like if you're laying down and looking at your feet, but i KNOW my eyes are closed, I'm still dreaming. I imagine I'm on my desk and the entire room is dark, really dark, and I hear two females talking, one is the "evil" prescence you usually feel, but she's not the one speaking, I know she's there, the other is someone else, she keeps saying "not now, it's not time", but talking to the other women. Regardless, I can hear myself screaming, really it's obviously only in my head, I'm screaming "Brett" one of my good friends names, I'm facing opposite my wall, and there's a candle I own next to my head, and I can smell it, a very strong smell. Well this is when I wake up, I wack my hand into the wall - I forgot how to gently get out of these. Now I remember :p

      Okay here's where it gets a little weird, I feel like I'm a false awakening, I'm not sure if it's because I'm over tired, but I've been up since 4 am, it's now 3 pm, I did "reality checks" looked in mirrors, read text, etc. I even went out and went to an appointment I made today at 11 a.m.

      WHAT IS GOING ON? Has anybody else had this? I'm so tired and want to sleep - but I feel awake and rejuvenated in a sense. Should I just go to sleep, when I wake up will this feeling go away? I ate some candy, it wasn't any crazy flavor - I guess I know at this point I'm probably just over-tired, but why do I feel like this? Over tired? Please help.

      Oh, I get this a lot when I'm sleep deprived! I think your brain is telling you that you need sleep, while your body is like "NAH I FEEL FINE KEEP GOING" and then there's this disconnection between what you know and what you feel. Have a good night's sleep tonight and you should be better tomorrow!

      That's what I've figured! I never had it before... it gets so over-whelming, I'm so tired, but I think my body is trying to avoid another episode. I know it's probably not the place to ask, but I am prescribed benzos - could these possibly help me sleep better tonight? I figure it's probably just because since my episode, I technically got about an hour and a half of sleep before and now I'm just over-whelmed/tired, etc. I pretty much realized it wasn't a false awakening pretty easily after looking at my reflection and applying makeup :p Thanks for the speedy reply

      I have no idea, I've never taken benzos and I dunno the first thing about medications and how they affect us. From what I read online, it should get you all mellow and sleepy, but I don't recommend taking them unless it's at the time/situation your doctor told you to. And you're welcome!
