I agree it's a spontaneous DILD. I noted two things that can improved the chances for spontaneous DILD:

      - You were awake until 5AM. If that's unusually long, then you would have experienced REM rebound which is often a DILD booster.

      - You were sleeping in unusual conditions (the zentai suit). When you sleep in new and unfamiliar conditions, your mind tends to be more alert (for danger, protection, etc). This makes your sleep lighter and improves general awareness. Same thing happens sleeping in hotels, on the couch, in sunlight, or anything out of the ordinary.

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

What a great point - I found out myself, that sleeping in different places - like on holidays - is helpful, but didn't think it through yet.
Also I read about people using couches for LD-attempts.
Now - this whole theory of yours makes a lot of sense and has practical applications!
      Let's go sleep unusually!

Just a thought - what about wrong way round in bed?? Rather easy, if it worked..
And keep switching..? Probably all runs dead with enough acclimatisation having gone down before, though.
