Fun ways to think lucid dreaming as:

This thread is more or less to inspire people to practice lucid dreaming and create motivation. This has nothing to do with the super natural it is purely just for fun. First I will start off like this:

So, every night we go to sleep and attempt to "lucid dream"; That sounds kind of boring, so how about this?

We live in this current dimension (wake world) and every night we wait for an opportunity to invade other dimensions. When we dream (non-lucid) we are just observing another dimension through our supernatural senses. When we attempt to do reality checks we are actively trying to find an exploit in the dimension so we can invade. When we become lucid we successfully found a "hole" and we are now "present" in the world. We are extra dimensional beings with abilities far above the mortals in that dimension. We are smarter, faster, and superior in every way.

To the others in that dimension we are frighting aliens, unexplained beings. People in that dimension tell stories of us with sighting reports, people mysteriously being teleported to the extra dimensional being (us summoning dream characters) among other unexplained phenomenon. We are the equivalent of big foot in these dimensions.

I personally think that makes lucid dreaming seem a lot more fun. Also gives a motivation for learning reality checks. WILD can be thought of as trying to "brute force" into a dimension. What other ways can you think of to make lucid dreaming more fun?

Expand a little on it, and I think you've got the script for a Hollywood blockbuster on your hands. Seen from the perspective of the hapless and victimised DC people, and possibly directed by M. Night Shyamalan (sinister touch), S. Spielberg (sci-fi touch), or J.J. Abrams (over-the-top violent and flashy).

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

      1) We are dead and experiencing the afterlife.

      2) We have died, have been in cryonic suspension for a thousand years, and the dream we are having is the dream you have when they begin the "resurrection" process.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

Actually, that did help me lucid dream last night. I was in a dark brick tower looking inside. I saw a letter going up words towards the top of the tower. I tried to climb it, but half the ladder was missing. I went down really fast and felt this dark presence. The door went missing, so I was essentially trapped. A monster or two crawling down thee dark tower towards me. Of course I started freaking out a little and went into the fetal position. Then I briefly thought of this thread and I became semi-lucid and stood up. I made the creatures vanish and blew a hole in the tower and escaped. The tower crumbled into a pile of dust.

Then I started walking in these woods near by and came lucid. I tried to make things appear, but I couldn't. The woods was very very vivid. I really loved the way the trees looked. It was starting to get dark, and I for a moment lost my lucidity but caught myself. I tried to fly, but could only hover above the ground. I woke up before I could do anything fun. That was my experience with that.
