Out of curiosity what methods are you using to attempt Lucidity? A common Lucid Dream feels like being awake in your dream so your senses return: Smell, taste, vision, perspective, hearing... etc. It can feel particularly real but it all depends on your skill set and dream recall for the memory bank. You can do what you want although limitations are again set by skill set. How can you tell you're not dreaming now? well well... that's personal perspective now isn't it

LDs can get pretty realistic. Some say, even more real than waking life.

I've tried WILD(with and without sleep), and WBTB.

Maybe you should try Dream Journalling and Reality Checks ?

One thing I don't do is Reality Checks.
I did set reminders on my iPhone to go off every hour after I wake up. I do keep a dream journal, but I type my dreams every night on an app I have on my Phone.

If you want a slightly closer rendition of LD'ing in film, try What Dreams May Come, or Vanilla Sky, or The Science of Sleep, or Stay, or The Last Wave, or even The Matrix, for God's sakes. But try not to use Inception as your model for LD'ing, as it gets pretty much everything wrong (sorry fans!). Clarity is irrelevant in a LD. You could have an incredibly vivid, clear dream without a hint of self-awareness (aka: lucidity), or be totally lucid while trapped in a dull gray fog. Or vise-verse; it doesn't matter. Though you can certainly work on clarity while lucid, and build dreams that are more impressive than waking life, your lucidity does not equal clarity. So good clarity will not tell you that you are in a dream.

What will?

Well, there's an area you'll need to work at yourself until you the thing, the dreamsign, or maybe just the mood that tells you that "this is a dream." It wouldn't hurt to start practicing your RC's as well!

You're likely not, as the internet works like crap in dreams.

Anything you can imagine, plus a few thngs you haven't even thought of yet!

Sorry if I have a lot of questions, I'm just trying to figure this out, and I'm starting to get pretty frustrated because I've been trying to LD for a while now.

No worries; learning this art can be difficult. And it can take some time, so be patient while you learn the fundamentals, and the adventures will eventually ensue!

I look at inception in a whole new light now haha

A good book to read is Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge.

I would provide a link to it, but it'll probably get deleted because Dreamviews wants the world of lucid dreaming to revolve around Dreamviews.

For me it feels great. You can do anything you want, you can feel even more real than in real life. But it takes much time and effort, but I would say its worth it.

I just have to comment on Inception, my favorite LD movie..... While it isn't totally accurate, neither are any of the others. It does capture some things very well. I could make a list of those things if pressed, but anyway it's a fun movie and inspires me whenever i watch it.
