      Created account just for this.

I just read being permanently lucid was rare in another article. I thought it would be somewhat normal seeing as I have dreams every single night where I control at least part of it. I have since I was 7. I also had nightmares all the time as a kid but I had the "This is a dream so it can't hurt me" realization. So I wouldn't mind being eaten by a monster or anything. Then I learned to fly, breathe underwater and all that. Now I hardly have nightmares at all because I could just fight the monster with double katanas if I wanted.

I've also tried the other techniques for lucid dreaming later on and I have even more vivid dreams. But they become realistic and boring and I can't do what I do normally. The best way I can describe it right now is that normally I know on some level I'm dreaming all the time but other dream people and elements are oblivious so I take advantage of that. When I'm fully lucid everybody knows what's up and completely dismisses my shenanigans. I also really don't feel rested when I have these super lucid dreams, so I don't practice it often.

As far as how deep you can take it the craziest thing I've heard of is getting a hang of controlling the time dilation of dreams. Some dreams feel like a lifetime even though it was only a nap. Being able to do that on purpose is pretty crazy. I can't really imagine how. But since I already feel tired most of the time and sleep 12 hours a day possibly because I have these semi-lucid dreams every night, I'm not really up for the task of finding out.

Also ....to add to this in case people think this is only a good thing I am diagnosed bipolar. The first major sign I might have a problem was when I said "I wish I could sleep forever." My dreams were amazing every night but I was growing increasingly displeasured (I know this isn't a word chrome, but displeased doesn't work) and tired of real life. My nightmares also try to 1-up me and every once and awhile I get a super traumatizing one where I feel physical or severe psychological pain.

I'm glad to know there are others like me, it's apparently exceedingly rare to have this perpetual lucidity. And when you say you always know that you're dreaming "on some level" I get that a lot, for the most part in order to get any rest I ignore obvious ways I could pull myself into full lucidity. It feels like my head is a tv station that plays a different show for me to act out with me as the star. Everything from murder mysteries to being a superhero, the only reason I pull myself into full lucidity is if I don't like the way it's shaping up. I have a feeling you know exactly what I mean
