Still I think your self-evaluation is correct. What's hurting your lucid dreaming isn't to do with awareness or clarity. It's physical and mental stress from waking life. Judging by the imagery in your dream, I'd guess it might be related to your work or coworkers? There are many ways to cope with stress. I personally like journaling. When you say you are losing faith in yourself it makes me think that you're giving too much focus to negative things and not enough the positive. Just as you described: "unbalanced." And I can see how that would mostly affect the content and control of your dreams more so than achieving lucidity. I think journaling is a good way to release that negativity just by putting it on paper and getting it out so it's not swirling in your head. And then cultivating positivity by practicing thankfulness and compassion for yourself and others.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I knew of the third eye and recently heard of the throat chakra affecting lucid dreaming. The nourishment thing makes sense. Also doesn't the throat chakra have to do with expression and creativity? I know it relates to communication, which also makes sense because you are "communicating" with your subconscious (and sometimes guides/angels/etc). So I would think the solar plexus could pertain to some other people also, I'm sure many people have issues with feeling out of control/powerless and with believing in themselves and whatnot. And if you have deep rooted beliefs like that, of course it would affect your dreams and probably the ability to become/stay lucid.
I definitely agree with you about giving too much focus to the negative. Sadly I haven't been quite as good about staying positive lately. I should try to get back into the habit of writing out things to be thankful for everyday. One of my goals for this year is to write more and be better about keeping up with my journals. I feel like I never have time lately though (mostly since I've been working so much lol). I figured that could be part of the reason my co-workers were vampires in the dream, because I often feel like work is sucking up all of my time and energy!
Definitely appreciate your input. It was nice to get a little reminder/nudge to shift my focus. =]
