Lightbulb Struggling with level of control... Just had a theory...

Hey guys, haven't been active on here in quite a while. Life has been crazy and I've been super busy. I moved to Austin, TX last April and since then have been struggling more than ever with my lucid dreaming. =( Actually, just dreaming in general lol my recall hasn't been so great and overall my dreams have a hazy, not-so-clear feeling to them.
And then when I do become lucid, I have a difficult time controlling and staying lucid. I feel like I finally made some progress, in a way, with my last LD the day before yesterday.

I was in a situation where I was fighting off co-workers who had been turned into vampire/werewolf hybrids (lol) and was trying to make a flame-thrower just appear, and when that wouldn't work I was trying to just find a better weapon in a locker (I've always had trouble just making things materialize out nowhere but usually could pull things into my dreams by opening doors or drawers, etc). I guess I realized in the dream that I didn't fully believe I could do it since I've barely been able to lucid dream lately, I'm losing faith in myself and I sensed that even in the dream. So, just a moment ago a theory arose.

Besides the fact that I'm losing faith in myself when it comes to my dreams, I also feel it in every day life (things have been a bit difficult, but we won't get into all of that right now). I'm sure my waking feelings probably affect my ability to lucid dream. I don't feel like I have good control over my life, so it makes sense that I can't take control of my dreams either. Anyone else feel this way?

So, my theory is that perhaps the solar plexus chakra plays a big part in the ability to lucid dream? I've heard before that it has to do with self esteem and confidence, your personal power, yadda yadda. I guess when it comes down to it, a lot of people have a subconscious belief that they can't take complete control of their dreams, I can see from my experiences that at this point in my life that must surely be the case with me. What if this stems from an unbalanced solar plexus chakra?

Insight? Thoughts? Opinions? Would love to hear back from you guys. =] Especially from people who know more about chakras, that's a subject I'm interested in but don't know a whole lot about.
