      First, stabilized, non-micro-LD

      Hi,

First, sorry to post another "first!" thread, but I wanted to share both because I'm happy to have experienced the thrill and joy of achieving this, and second in case it encourages or helps someone that, like me, was stuck.

Let me say that after many months writting a journal everynight, and after several false awakenings and small LDs (some blurry, dark seconds, not able to stabilize), I found myself stuck and frustrated. After tonight, I realized it's possible.

Tonight (sunday to monday) even if I spent all sunday afternoon drinking beers (last one around 9.30PM), I had a really nice experience. When I woke up after the dream, I even raised my arms up in victory!

      Now, to the experience:

As usual lately, I woke up at 1.30am... 3am... 4am... maybe following dream cycles, I don't know, but everytime I would write down something. Then, I got the feeling of being thinking about a dream, laying in my bed, but actually I'm not quite sure if I was thinking about a dream, or if I was dreaming. I know I could feel my body laying in the bed, and all was dark, when I started feeling as if I was balancing from side to side.

Suddenly I felt excited, tried to calm down, and I could feel my body balancing as if I was on a ship. I started seeing strange figures, but there was something weird: I could hear some "creek" of the bed mattress... I though "That's no-sense... either I'm really moving (impossible I guess) or I'm dreaming already?" .... so I tried to move my arm and put my hand in front of my face. I saw a dark, blurry shadow of a hand, vibrating. Then I moved the other hand and rubbed them.

Next thing is a feeling of waking up... I get up from bed a bit frustrated but stopped a second.... "false awakening, are you there?"... so did the nose-pinch RC... and surprise.... "hi false awakening".

I though it was going to be as usual... dark, blurry vision, not being able to walk 4 steps, and wake up. But again surprise... room had light, I could touch the walls and feel my whole body, and vision would get more and more vivid and sharp.

I closed my room door in case "something" came from the hallway. Then I though... "what the... lets open it". I was surprised to see a colorful hallway... still not believing this I though "wait until I tell my coworker" (we use to share dreams and he knows about my "insane" will to get lucid dreams). Then I saw the wall of the house entrance and though "lets try something..." (based on things I read here, things to try, etc.)

I said to myself: "show me the most horrific face!", and in the wall, as if it was a cinema projection, several terror/horror faces started to show. I specially remember a baby face with demon look (black eyes, big eyebrows, sharp dirty teeth, and a really wicked/twisted/evil smile... horrific, but it was fun! and I was like "wow, this works for real"...). I said "ok... now the prettiest"... and drawings of women faces appeared... I remember a really nice drawing of "13" (from House tv show). I said "ok, enough, away with it" and the projection dissapeared.

I entered my kitchen, all light, but view was like with more field of view, like if I had a lens or something. I remembered reading here that is good to focus on something specific. I took a mustard pot that was laying around, and focused on it. All went more vivid and the deformation faded away, and I could see the pot perfectly... with all the small letters for ingredients, etc... I turned it around in my hand, while thinking: "wow man... it's amanzing.. to think my brain is doing all this... and I'm just sleeping"....

I though on trying teleporting myself to achieve one of the many things I got in mind when lucid dreaming, but decided it was to test my luck too much... so I just decided to do what every man wants on an LD. I just looked at my kitchen door and "spawned" 2 girls, that smiling came from the hallway into the kitchen. It's amazing that I didn't even had to talk. Like two trained souls, they just went straight to what (it seems) they knew I wanted.

To bad a squirrel appeared suddenly (I guess my brain, trying to trick me), that though "something" was an acorn and tried to bite it. Hopefully I was able to just "delete" the squirrel, but unfortunatelly the 2 girls were gone too.... I spawned another one, but I woke up as I started to caress her.

In any case, the level of lucidness I had, and also the ability to control the dream apparently so easily, made the whole experience really nice, even if it was somewhat short. I can't wait to find myself in a similar situation again. Next time once stabilized I'll try something less exciting than women.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and if you are somewhat stuck, don't give up! Dream journal, first important step.

      Regards.

      Congratulations on the lucid!

That sounds really great, actually. I'm very impressed with your dream control. Creating those pictures, managing not to scare yourself out of lucidity, summoning various girls. Very well done!

Hmmmm... Thirteen. Now there's an idea!

hahah, yeah... an idea I hope not to forget

Thanks for the comment. Honestly I also was impressed, and I don't know if it was that I just trusted in my dream correctly, or if it was the novice luck, and that I was eager. In any case, I had no fear at all... I did it on purpose... I didn't mention it to not make the post longer but when I opened the room door I even "imagined" something evil could come, but I also imagined myself as some kind of dark, evil, powerful being, advancing on the hallway, as if I was the master of the realm, challenging anything evil that wanted to scare me to try it. It's just a small moment, but maybe that also helps on realizing that nothing can happen in the dream unless you want to, and that YOU are the one controling it all.

This reminds me that last week I had this small LD, that maybe with some other similar ones, helped me to "train" my brain, but of course it was all thanks to reading here posts about dream control, etc.... I was siting next to a bed, talking with someone about superstitions (I'm not), and suddenly I looked under the bed, dark, pitch black, and though "something bad can come from down there...", and then realized that, if it was actually a dream, it could happen just imagining it. I pinched my nose and... I was dreaming. For a moment I was like "oh oh...", and when looked again under the bed, a dark-grey arm tryied to grab me. I just took the arm and throw whatever it was there out.

Then I found myself on my bed, but felt like paralyzed. Again I was like "ok... se here we are again... nothing to worry about". I saw a dark shadow with green eyes coming to my bed, and starting to lean towards me and I just though something like "what are you doing here, you have nothing to do here, you don't scare me, out", and it just vanished. And I woke up.

Of course I also had bad moments even in small lucids long ago, where I found myself with someone grabbing me and trying to pierce my spine from the back with a stick, with a LOT of strengh, and I while agonizing and suffering I was thinking "it may be a dream, but man... it hurts!!"... They were just dreams where I would become lucid a few seconds before waking up. I guess it depends if you have your control well trained, or if the situation is not as bad and you're novice, as it happened to me I guess...

In any case I think that creating this kind of "scary" situations on purpose can help on training, to lose fear... maybe they are negative if you're supertitious, believer, etc... I'm not into any religion (no ofense to anyone) and I don't follow things like OBEs, ghosts, etc... so maybe that also helps.

I think you are very right about that, and I hope you will participate in the Task of the Month from now on, because quite often we have tasks that challenge our (false) beliefs.

I can tell that you have done your homework exceptionally well while waiting for a proper lucid. It will pay off now, as you have already seen.

The task of the month is something I saw long ago here, and I put it on my list of "to-do" when I was able to have decent lucids, in case it ever happened. Anyway, even if today I feel confident and more motivated, I don't want to get too optimistic either because maybe it happened today and doesn't happen again in several weeks or months. I will try, you can count on that, but I'm not sure I'm still ready for that task of the month.

In any case, I will read them, just in case I have another lucid, even if it's short, just to try achieving the task. Who knows, maybe I'm lucky and get it done even if the dream lasts just 2 minutes... It's just that when I initially read about those tasks, I though of it like something to do when you're some kind of... veteran.

PS: Just read several month's tasks.... definitely... even the basic ones are... hard!!
Anyway I will definitely try some, even if I have to first (try to) summon the missing DCs, or whatever....

You can do the basic ones within two minutes, definitely. I rarely have long LDs, but I occasionally even manage an advanced task. It just takes me sooo long to commit them to memory! I often only manage to do them right at the end of the month. But they are achievable, even for newbies, and that's why we have both basic, advanced and bonus tasks. A flavour to suit everyone.

There will be new tasks for April up in a couple of days. Stay tuned.

Congratulations, Irreo! I just had the same thing happen to me - first time having a longer LD with actual dream control. It was so exciting! Very cool to read about your experience!
