What in particular makes you want to be a dreamer? Maybe writing down your goals would help. If you're a musician try to bring something back from your dreams - it worked for My Bloody Valentine, Aphex Twin, mauldin of the Well, and many others. If you're a writer take poetry or imagery from them.
Maybe getting into some dream-like art would help too, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac both have published dream journals, Waking Life and Akira Kurosawa's Dreams are beautiful pictures, the art of the surrealists is out of this world, etc. See what sticks but it's hard to maintain a shift in lifestyle without substantial reason to adhere to it.
