Is this lucid dreaming it felt like I was hallucinating? My first post!

I had a dream that felt so real! I've had a similar experience that was even more messed up but I'll carry on with this one,,,,

So In this dream.... I was sat up on the bed and I had a book that I was trying to read but I couldn't because It was to dark in the room, the lights were off.... The room was exactly the same nothing changed since I went to sleep, It really felt like I hadn't gone to sleep and I was just about to but I wanted to read this book first,,, so i was sat up on my bed trying to read this book putting it closer to my face trying to see the words but I couldn't so I looked around and saw a torch on the bookshelf at the other side of the room I couldn't reach it and didn't think to get up and get it myself so I looked to where my friend was sleeping but I thought she was awake reading a book! That's what I saw but she was actually fast asleep,,, any way I asked her to pass me the torch on the bookshelf so I could read my book but she didn't respond so I asked her again and she just sat there reading her book as if I wasn't there, this confused me so I kept calling her name trying to get her to notice me I got a bit panicky because she just didn't see me,,, but because I was calling her out loud in this hallucinating dream she eventually woke up to the noise I was making which woke me up as well and I came back to reality slightly shocked to see my friend turned over looking at me with half closed eyes like whats going on? I realised I was dreaming and that I woke her up because of it! For a second I laughed about it to myself in a bit of disbelief and then went back to sleep. Has anyone had similar experiences? I find it odd that I was speaking out loud and when I woke I was half sat up leaning over my bed towards my friends bed!

Not being able to read is one of the triggers people use to realize they are in a dream, and thus go lucid. So it sounds like you were very close
