Smile Got my first LD, though it lasted just 3 secs !

Hi everyone, I've been trying to lucid dream for almost 3 months now and last night I think I truly achieved it.....
So as far as I remember the dream started as a False Awakening, I was just lying in my bed for some seconds with my eyes open when suddenly I heard some really strange voices coming from the other side of the room (it looked like random female voices coming out of a radio). So I was kinda freaked out and I tried to turn on the other side to check what that was, but I just couldn't move. At that moment I believed I was in a SP (but in fact I was dreaming of having a SP) and I just closed my eyes and tried some visualizations, hoping I could step inside a LD but it just wasn't working... I was aware of all the bad things that could happen during a SP therefore I kept my eyes closed and tried relaxing somehow.. After just a few secs I found myself in my dark bedroom, but this time I was out of bed. I was standing by the windows and just looking around. Right now the dream was even more vivid and I unexpectedly made that realization that, in fact I must be dreaming.. So I immediately performed a RC ( pinched my nose) & I could breathe.. Yayy I'm dreaming I said... When in just 2-3 secs the room started to brighten and I just woke up...

I am really excited it finally worked, even though for 3 secs.. Anyway I have a question.... I've read that LD occur during REM sleep, and most commonly after 4-6 hours of sleep when REM period lasts longer. While for me, I had this dream just after approx. 1 hour of sleep (I went to bed at 10:30 and when I woke after this dream I checked the clock it was 11:45). How it is possible ?

      Scumbag brain... lol
for the REM sleep i was sleeping for two hours...

Interesting I also believed I just couldn't LD, and was about to quit the practicing a week ago but I thought I'd go for another month
to prolong the dream you need to stabilize it first.. Things like rubbing your hands or spinning around might work.

You cant prolong it it just happens when you reckonize it,and goes when it wants, to prolong it is just knowing that it is a dream and how long u realize it , then it just disdapears,,your a very intelligent human to know your dreaming, bordering on god like intelligence,,don't be scared,,

      Hi,

Prolonging lucid dreams can be done in two ways
      - In dream
      - Outside Dream

      ID is simply Stabilization techniques
If iinside your dream your starting to sense real body or dream starts becoming blurry, lose quality and just be dull
You use stabilization techniques which are simple meant to drag back most of you into Dream

OD is known as DEILD mostly, which base idea is to Re-Enter Dream State after it suddenly ended or just plainly ended (Depends on situation, sometimes you might be unable to continue dream which ended naturaly)
It can be used aswell as technique for inducing lucid dreams
      Here's example factor:
      - Your going to bed after long rough school day
      - When you got onto bed you repeated twenty times mantra ,,When i'il wake up i'il remember to keep my eyes closed and don't move at all'
      - Your falling asleep
      - Dream Starts
      - While wakling around in non-lucid dream you noticed something weird and realized that your dreaming
      - You use basic stabilization technique to keep yourself in dream
      - Your getting into enjoyful katana battles n' stuff for thirty minutes
      - Suddenly without fading or any destabilization effects you wake up
      - You found yourself in your bed
      - Thanks to mantra you repeated to yourself nearly-instant after you woke up you remembered to keep eyes closed and not move
      - Your awake with mind but body falls back into sleep state
      - Since you quit from REM Dream your starting to feel REM Dream Entrance Effects (Ringing noises, vibrations etc.)**
      - Your back in dream

** - Those sensations aka: being unable to move, ringing in ears, vibrations, hallucinations, sound hallucinations or losing feeling of body are natural process that happens everytime we enter REM Sleep, but we don't remember that naturaly because our mind is sleeping when that happens and probably wakes up partialy when we spawn ourselfs in dream

This is basic explanation of DEILD Method
There's one critical factor thought in this method
In probably 90 - 95% of chances you need to be in REM Sleep to Re-Enter it
If you will wake up at end of your REM Cycle or just after it ended you might be unable to get back in dream
If you'd want to lucid dream again you'd need to do WILD Technique since after REM Phase there is dreamless NREM Phase which lasts at shortest up to 5 - 30 minutes
Sometimes thought you may meet yourself with dreams in NREM which is quite rare from what i know.
If you'd enter in NREM Lucid Dream it would switch back to REM and keep on lucid

I suggest you reading this tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...torial-**.html
It's called CAN-WILD but it's simply a slightly upgraded DEILD Method
Afterall DEILD Methods are just modified and mostly easier versions of WILD

IM new to these techniques for ld but iv been having these dreams for about 20 years, you write at the end of your post how many ld u have had and its about 20 to 30, mine is probably 100+ without any techniques, all this time it just boils down to pure intelligence for me , for someone to realize a dream is far more intelligent than even the highest understanding of quantum physics, bordering on a god like intelligence ,,,,it is your dream ,you are the creator, therfore you are a god. (a young one at that, compared to gods age and wisdom(intelligence) no body likes a big head,,, don't be scared,,

This guide might be better at explaining stabilization than i would
      http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...damentals.html

And about being unable to use telekinetic powers
It might be just that in this dream you had low dream control

Lucidity & Dream Control seem to be quite different every lucid dream
I'm myself not a expert about this but sometimes i'm able to quite easily manipulate dream and sometimes i'm unable or barely able to do so
      For example:
*Few Days Ago In Lucid Dream*
I was able to spawn lightsaber on my back by beliving that yoda gave me it few minutes ago and i have it on my back
After doing telling myself that i put my hand on my back to grab lightsaber and it was there
I grabbed it and enjoyed expirence which i later began

      *This morning's Lucid Dream*
I was trying the same way to spawn Zangetsu sword from Bleach series on my back, but it didn't work
After first attempt failed i tried many other approaches to doing so:
      - Visualize sword on my back
      - Belive that i have it on my back
      - Put my hand on back and except to be able to grab zangetsu and
Around few minutes of trying but yet it didn't work at all while at other ld i was able to do it in mere four or six seconds
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..
