      Deild / wild

(Skip to end if you don't wish to read the little back story)

So I've been attempting lucid dreaming for about 6 weeks now and I have had 5 within the first month mainly doing mantras and trying to be more aware with reality checks etc..

For the last 2 weeks nothing no lucid dreams even though I have been doing consistent reality checks the whole 6 weeks. The reality checks have only caused me to become lucid once all other times have been from noticing somthing odd.

I have been trying to deild by setting an alarm at 2am, I go to sleep at 8pm because I have to be up at 4am.
So the alarm goes off and it lasts only 1o seconds and turns itself off so I don't have to move.. I then keep my eyes closed and remain completely still. On my first attempt I started to get a tingly sensation and it kind of gave me a fright so I moved

All other times I've either slept through my alarm as it's quiet or I've moved etc, last night I didn't move after the alarm went off but I heard what sounded like someone in the house which could have been hypnogogic state? It caused me to jump up and wake my wife up Haha.

So what I am wondering is if you attempt a dream exit initiated lucid dream from waking up from a dream and you feel 'awake' in your mind and remain still if this fails to produce a dream re entry within minutes like it's supposed to can you just do a normal wild? Because every wild tutorial says that you need to get up out of bed and be awake for a while like a wbtb..?? And how long roughly would a normal wild take from just waking up and not moving to going back to sleep consciously?

Sorry if it's a kind of stupid question I just want to see any one else's view on what I'm attempting here if I'm on the right track.

Instead of just waking up and staying still, try and do a little bit of visualization. If you wake up out of a dream, you can visualize the dream you were just in to help you get back in to it. Yes, you can do a normal WILD if you aren't able to reenter a dream right away. Even though a single or many tutorials say something, you don't have to follow it exactly. The thing about lucid dreaming and things of the same nature is that everyone is different and you have to experiment and find what works for you. A normal WILD would take however long it does . There's not really a set time you can put on WILDs because like I said before, everyone is different. Experiment with different things and see what works for you

I sleep through half of my alarms :/ the sound you heard was most likely Hypnagogic Hallucinations. I was tripping the first time. I could hear a dog walking up the hallway towards my room, and it jumped onto my bed. I didn't realize it was HH and actually thought it was my dog which had been dead for half a year lol.

Definitely Hypnagogic Hallucinations. Mine are always like that, some sounds that totally ring my alarms... like someone entering the house, banging against the windows, glass breaking in another room etc. I hate that because I always react to those, and need to check if everything is ok.
