      Divine Encounters

Has anyone here had experiences with meeting any deities in a lucid dream? If so, then how did you make contact and what were they like?

How would one distinguish a so called deity from a Jungian Archetype or just a powerful subpersonality?

      Is there a difference?

Does asking for something you didn't know before and finding proof constitutes as proof?

Besides, what is a subpersonality anyway? I have never met one. ^^.

.My only "contact" with a deity was Baphomet.

How i met him? In a semi-lucid dream i was in a empty room full of sparkling lights. And I was told to try and touch one of them. After I did i floated in a black void and saw a cloudscraper sized horned creature in loads of neon-colours. I didn't get to see more because I got so frightened that the only tought on my mind was to get the hell out and was the first time i prayed for god for help. Atheist by the way.

http://podcollective.com/browse/cont....baphomet2.jpg He looked suprisingly much like this. Nothing much I gained from this experience but a weird memory.

If you are interested in meetings I recommend 'Scales of the dragon' Avendar Dragon (author name). It is a very interesting read about encounters had with deities like Lucifer. Each chapter represents a different deity. It's an epic read and reads quite like a fiction. But it is supposed to be a non-fiction. Either way, I think you might enjoy it quite a bit

I only ask because I come from a more Jungian or esoteric perspective. But it doesn't really matter how these experiences are outwardly categorized. I've had some experiences doing active imagination work. So far, becoming lucid regularly has been so difficult, I haven't been able to do the depth work like this I would like to.

I haven't really met a deity as such, but as an atheist I once wondered what would happen if I prayed in a lucid dream. I tried it twice, with different outcomes.

The first was when I was wandering around, trying to think of something to do. So the idea of praying came to mind. I knelt down, held my hands together and muttered a few words. When I stood back up, I was holding an umbrella. It wasn't even raining. I was quite confused. Especially since it broke after I tried to open it.

The second was during a lucid nightmare. I was pretty damn scared at the time, and wondered what praying might do. So, as last time, I knelt down, held my hands together, and I heard my own voice talking. I couldn't understand what it was saying, but it was pretty creepy so I just ran away.

That's about as far as I go with religious experiences. Maybe I'll try meeting a god at some point...

Whatever you meet in a lucid dream is nothing but a dream character that your subconcious mind created. The only way for such expiriences to happen is through OBE or Astral Projection which are hard to do. Me personaly I havent met one but when I do I will know that its just a materialization of my subconcious mind.
Good luck in your next lucid expirience ^_^
