      My first lucid!

So I had my first lucid last night! I had first started reading about LD a couple of months ago. Did try inducing just by doin RCs and reading this forum and didn't have much luck. I would do RCs a few times a day.

Anyway I haven't done any RCs for a few weeks, but last night I was in a dream, which i'll try to explain:

I saw a piece of paper which showed a landscape, and then the piece of paper turned into a car window as i was looking out of it and driving down a hill. Next thing I know i am running down the hill quite fast. I don't know why but I did the 'look at your hands' RC and noticed that my right pinky was only half the size, as if half had been cut off and the BOOM! Lucid. So I do the obvious thing and try to fly, get about 10 feet off the ground and it starts getting blurry so I did the spinny thing which worked. I then try to shoot flames out of my hands which didn't work. I then see a car and go over, and this hot girl from my college is in there, so i start to kiss her because, why the hell not? Must have got a bit too excited as I woke up!

All in all must have lasted about 20 seconds which was a but disappointing. I was just wondering if it is normal to get a lucid dream without putting much effort in like I did?

      Anyway hoping for many more!

      Thanks for reading.

      Hi,

      Congrats on first lucid.
It might've been not just a luck
I belive it was your previous mindset and previous practices of reality checks
When your practicing Awareness, Reality Checks or just questioning reality then it will take some time for it to show up in dreams.

Maybe a wave of previous practices just hit you
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

Thanks Misaka. I think I agree. I mean, sometimes I will dream about things that happened weeks or months ago, so I guess it takes a while before it filters through to your subconcious.

Anyway this first lucid is enough motivation to try harder. I guess you have to actually have that first one in order to believe that LD'ing is 100% possible. Here's to many more

Congrats on your first LD. If you keep consistent in your techniques you will find that the floodgates will have opened, with many more LDs to come!

Congratulations on your first lucid dream! Do you feel the intense afterglow from it? Don't lose heart at the infrequency of lucid dreams however, as I have been off and on practicing for about 4 years now and have had only a handful of them. In my experience, the less I try to have one the more likely I am to do it. I wonder, when you were trying to fly, did it feel like your body was actually physically moving off the ground? I can't quite wrap my head around that sensation and I was wondering if it is the same feeling for other people. Anyhow, congratulations again!

Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by afterglow? When I actually became lucid I felt an intense rush and it was as if I had been spectating myself but when I realised it was a dream kind of zoomed into myself? Haha really hard to explain.

Anyway the flying sensation wasn't how I imagined. I hovered up as i jumped and flapped my arms and I got this adrenaline rush, but it started getting blurry which is why I had to stabilize by spinning.
