Non Lucid Dream about being Lucid ?

So basically I was using the Wake back to bed technique after a good nights sleep, I was trying to focus on my desired dream location but it just didn't seem to work however my dream began regardless! The part where I went "lucid" was when I told my work mate I was dreaming and after this I began to fly about my dream. However through out the dream although the locations changed I wasn't consciously changing them and more or less just following my dreams plot. I've never had a LD as of yet but surely I'm getting pretty close right ?

      Hi,

It might've been a real lucid dream maybe.
You told someone that your dreaming after you suddenly figured out it's a dream.
      You used 'Dream Control' too.
Seems like lucid dream to me

You might've had a low lucidity and in result after you started to fly you forgot that your dreaming and therefore followed once again plot of dream
In dreams aswell as lucid ones the scenery can change on it's own
Example: Your going to the bathroom through doors in your house and suddenly you find yourself on Moonbase
So don't worry about such stuff, it happens in both types of dreams.

Anyway, Congrats On Your First Lucid Dream

Really ? I didn't do any dream checks or anything like that, which would usually start a lucid dream ? I don't usually do them (in reality) as I've had trouble spotting patterns between my dreams

      Yeah

You don't need Reality Checks to become lucid in your dreams.
They are handy stuff which might help with lucidity but you shouldn't forget about other things aswell

I belive this lucid of yours was result simply of 'Awareness'
You noticed something weird and figured out that it's a dream because the thing you saw was too weird to even exist in reality?
      That's how 'Awareness' techniques work

Yet it's not that simple without luck or practice
During our waking life we don't question reality too much.
Even if we would see a giant dragon we'd accept it as reality (Unless we were practice ld techniques?)

You might've practiced some stuff like Reality Checks n' doing them whenever something weird happens
Or it might've been just a spontaneous lucid dream
I had few of spontaneous lds during my lifetime.

I belive they might be result of some error when putting our mind to sleep
Which causes your mind to be fully conscious during dream and therefore makes it easy to figure out it's a dream?
Or maybe just WBTB increased your awareness in dream and that's all to it
Too much possiblities but there's one most important thingy: You Had A Lucid Dream

      Good Job

well done on your LD, seems like a LD to me at least.

I only had two LD where I was absolutely not following the regular plot and also did not adhere to the "dream logic" at work. Most of the dreams I had I have phases with limited control and some with definite control and good lucidity. If I remember to RC and remember my goals, then I'm quite positive it was a "real" LD. Just use the nose pinch RC to confirm your lucidity. I only very sparsely use this RC over the course of the day, about 3-5 times... every time I wake up or have the feeling I was just sleepy and everytime something interesting or odd happens. Thats it. Very easy to do, and in my of my LDs I used the nose pinch to verify my suspicion. It also feels great give it a try.
