Yea it does seem random with awareness especially if you start the dream non lucid like a dild, you sometimes get lucky and realize the full implications of you being in a dream and other times you know it's a dream but just can't quite realize what that means to you. For me sometimes I get that rush and alot of times I don't aswell I think it's normal for no two lucids to be quite the same with awareness and alot of other factors that affect you're dreams.
