      Gravity in dreams problem

I've been trying that constant gravity reality-check technique for about a month now. And this morning's dream made me worry that it's all been for nothing and I fooled myself into believing it's a good technique for me. For a long time I wanted to become lucid to purposefully check the gravity in a dream, because in 99.9% of my dreams, it was absent. At least I thought it was absent.
In a LD this morning I was helping someone stand up from the ground, and as I was helping him up and walking, I became lucid and noticed the really heavy weight and feeling of gravity on my feet and body.
Because of this dream, now I'm afraid that maybe gravity is actually present in the vast majority of my dreams, I just somehow didn't notice it before, I never tried to become aware of it before to see if it's really present or not, so I counted it as non-existent. Either that or it's not actually present but when I check to see if it is, it instantly manifests or something. I'm afraid of both possibilities, both could easily lead to failure to trigger lucidity.
So before moving on to a different technique I thought I'd ask for an opinion or something, did I make a mistake or should I really move on? Sorry if this sounds confusing, I just woke up and I'm kinda confused as well.

I think in virtually all non-lucid dreams gravity is present. Maybe not quite to the extent as real life, say you might be able to do some cool free-running jumps which you wouldn't be able to do in waking life with the gravity restrictions as we feel them. But if there was no gravity in any dreams then wouldn't you be spending your dreams floating aimlessly around the sky? In day to day life you don't walk along the pavement thinking 'Oh lucky for gravity or I'd be up there somewhere.' It's a force you take for granted to always be active, hence why most dreams will contain fairly standard rules of gravity. As a reality check its more about checking your dream state by doing something impossible; so if you have the ability to hover off the ground or fly, then that's how you know you must be dreaming, because you are defying gravity.
