Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and lucid dreaming in general so this is my first time posting!

Anyway, I've been getting into LDing a lot recently, ever since about a few months ago I had my very first lucid dream (a random DILD). Ever since then I've been chasing this life changing experience and I've only had 2 LDs since, and they only lasted a minute or so.

So the other evening I was taking an afternoon nap so I figured perfect time to try a WILD. It was going quite well for a while, I was relaxing laying still listening to some binaural beats and observing the first of my hypnagogia. After this is a bit fuzzy because I'm pretty sure I was kind of floating in and out of conscious awareness for a while.

Eventually I become conscious again and am in what I believe to be sleep paralysis. I've briefly experienced SP before as being some numbness across my body and obviously the inability to move. But this time it was a little different. I'm researched on the subject so I knew not to panic but this experience was pretty overwhelming. When I became conscious, it felt almost for a second like my head was floating in space or in some kind of fluid, and as I focused more I felt myself in SP. My entire body was numb, and I tried to move my foot to no avail. However, this time, the entire time my head was almost "pulsating" with this INTENSELY loud "whooshing" nosie exactly like what you hear when you cup your ears, only it was cripplingly loud.

I didn't start to panic or freak out because I know that can cause worse hallucinations and I knew I was in some kind of SP and would ultimately be fine. I really wanted to turn this into an LD but the noise was so freakin loud and intense that I really couldn't focus on much. After enduring like 30 seconds of this I decided I wasn't about to enter a dream so I tried with all my strength to shift my foot, and I did and then woke up.

This experience wasn't particularly scary or painful in anyway, but it was really intense and I'd really just like to know more about it so that if it happens again I can try remaining calm and turning it into a lucid dream.

EDIT: I googled this and the only thing that came close to what I believe to have experienced is something called "Exploding Head Syndrome" however EHS is said to happen as one loud 'bang' or explosion sound, and this noise was constant and easily the loudest noise I've ever heard. Anyway, if anyone has any information relevant to my case or EHS I'd love to hear it. Thanks for reading
