Post Not realizing I'm dreaming and the power of my subconscious?

      Hello Dreamers,

I've made an account about 5 months ago when I was super excited about lucid dreaming but I quit pretty fast right after.
I recently started trying it again, so here is my story from why I quit. (copied from my reddit account).
      (sorry for my grammar).

So lately I've been into the whole lucid dreaming thing, I did dream tests every day. I pinched my nose and looked at my hands while asking myself if I was dreaming or not. But my first 'lucid dream' wich I found out wasn't a real one was abound 4 months ago and I stopped trying because of it.

In that lucid dream I was walking in a city with my mother and I was searching for a bike, eventually I ended up near a swimming pool and saw my father, there was something going through my mind like 'why is my father here' (parents are divorced) so I glare at my hands and 1 sec later I see myself flying off and woke up. This all wouldn't be a problem if I was actually lucid, but I realized that I had no control in it whatsoever and pretty much ragequitted after that.

Then about 2 weeks ago I started doing the daily tasks again and writing in my DJ. 1 week later I had my first actual lucid dream. So I woke up in my bed, to see my dark room. I do my normal routine and realize that I could still breath while pinching my nose, I looked at my hands but I just see a black blur infront of me in the shape of hand. I thought OMG I'm actually dreaming, the first thing I did was throw the cover off of me and trying to fly in my room by thinking of it. It didn't work. For some reason I just went with the flow and pretty much jumped towards my window, I crash through it and am currently flying in the sky, I remember while flying for these few seconds I could 'sense' or 'see' a robbery take place in my dream but I couldn't actually see it. So I was flying for a few seconds, landed in a nice spot and woke up.

Then today I took a nap for about 2 hours and dreamt about an old roman city, It was really odd as the dream me acted like he was in a lucid dream yet I was not. I know I looked at my hands and seeing only 3 fingers wich where really distorted and looking at someone's feet who was wearing baked egg's as shoes, the dream me thought that it was odd but fine as it was a dream. The dream me tried to spawn dream characters by opening doors and I even tried to make my fake lucid dream more lucid by yelling 'more lucidity' and touching the surroundings, nothing changed but it was really odd.
So to sum it up, I dreamt about having a lucid dream with every thing you would do to realize you are dreaming, yet I did not realize it until I woke up.

Ps: I tried to summon Scarlett Johannson by opening a door of a house but got her sister instead that looked nothing like her.

So I pretty much had 1 actual lucid dream and like 6 more 'fake' lucid dreams, where I'm dreaming that I'm lucid dreaming yet I'm not lucid.
      It was getting really annoying.

I also have a question about the subconciouss mind, like what are the possibilities with it?
If you have the cold for example, can you tell your subconciouss to fight it faster?
Or can you tell your subconciouss to make my hair grow faster?
As there are people on earth who can control their body heat to swim in ice cold water and not get hypothermia.
      Things like that.
There are even other occurrences where people get in an accident (hit by a car, struck by lighting etc) and are crazy good at a certain skill afterwards.
It could be math, drawing or anything they weren't good at beforehand. This was just because it was 'unlocked' for some reason.
I know I'm really stretching it but are some of my questions possible? To be able to manipulate your body/mind in your waking life by litteraly telling it to do so.

Thanks for reading all this and I hope I didn't make too many mistakes.

I'm really curious about lucid dreaming but I only had 1 decently blurry one.
But I'm still learning and can only improve from this point on!

Sounds to me like you're making progress in your efforts to become lucid in a dream! Keep up the work and attitude and I'm sure you'll travel further down the path.

As for the whole mind-body thing, there's definitely some possibilities but I have no clue where the boundaries lie. Tummo is a great example of what's possible.

When I started dream journalling, I also experienced non lucid dreams in which the concept of dream popped up.
Record these events in your dream journal and monitor them (I also count the number of deja-vu's). At the end of each month, count the number of events. You may see an increasing trend month after month, which indicates that you are getting more often very close to turning lucid.

It is totally normal for the frequency of real lucid dreams to increase very slowly. Monitoring other metrics, such as the average number of dreams recalled or the frequency of the idea of dream in dreams, helps to see the progress we actually make.

Thanks, I am still writing in my DJ everyday and during the day when I encounter my dog for example I realize that I've been dreaming about him too.
I get reminded pretty much every day about random dreams I had that night as objects refer to it, I couldn't even remember these dreams when I tried to think of them while waking up.
      It's kinda funny.

You need to settle your frustrations. You are actually making great progress. Lucid dreaming will take time, for some months to years. Be glad that small changes are happening in your dreaming life and that reality checks are making their way into your dreams. That in itself is huge. Your efforts will compound over time and lucidity will ensue more and more often. Keep at it!
