Sleep talking can be caused by a variety of things but if it's consistent, it could be REM behavior disorder. Or, if you're medications or other substances, maybe that's the cause? |

So, I've recently started school and have two roommates. They both said I screamed in the middle of the night at about 2am but I don't remember a thing. It was loud enough to wake them up, but I slept through it. This was three nights ago. Then the day after that one, I took a nap in the middle of the afternoon and do remember screaming just as I was about to fall asleep. Then last night, my entire bed started vibrating and I forced myself awake. It wasn't an earthquake or loud music that was causing the shaking. Am I getting closer to having my first lucid? |

as dolphin said, CONGRATS on your first lucid. Talking during your sleep is sometimes a by product of well.... sleeping. Some of my most vivid and entertaining lucids has had me yell and I mean YELL out during my sleep. Like when I started and had a gladiatorial arena dream I yelled "Next," and everyone in the room heard lol. |

Uhm... I have a couple questions about this, too. |

Yes! You are!. I cannot remember a single wake induced lucid dream of mine that has not had that characteristic shaking/vibrating/spinning sensation. Very often this will happen also, when you awaken from a dream partially, but not fully (and can re enter with awareness!). Don't get me wrong it can be very frightening and more than once I too have forced myself awake. The very definition of what you experienced is the "in between land"...just entering REM but not quite there, still some awareness of physical body. |
