If someone's prone to psychosis there are a lot of things that can trigger it. But no, I wouldn't say that lucid dreaming is the cause of any psychosis. |

I saw a post on lucid dreaming on reddit about a girl whose boyfriend had had a osychotic episode after attempting lucid dreaming. What do you guys think? I really wanna try, but scared of going mad... |

You can read lots of things on the internet, many of which are false. Now I'm not a psychologist, I don't know exactly what are the "prerequisites" for one to experience negative effects from lucid dreaming. What I do know is that people can find countless reasons to be scared of anything if they want to. But come on, we're thousands of lucid dreamers here on DV, some of us have been doing it for years; how many of us have gone mad? |

The general consensus is that it can only "bring out" the psychosis you already had, so unless you're already crazy, you're good |

I've been lucid dreaming for about six years now and have had no bad side-effects; my best friend has been lucid dreaming his entire life and has never had any bad side-effects. I'm sure that I can safely say the same thing about Samael, Higat, and RStronghammer's experiences with lucidity. |
