Question Why MILD and WBTB not working anymore?

Hello DV members, i'm here because i'm worried about my techniques not working
these are MILD and WBTB. Few weeks back, i could dream incubation with my MILD
just by visualizing that i was in my room and reality check'ed
about the WBTB, sometimes i would get more vivid dreams.
Although, recently, it's like those techniques no longer exist, they don't do any effects
      on my dreams at all.
I did not change my way of visualizing or my mantra
I didn't change the time i wake up to start a WBTB
So, why? Why aren't they working?

      Thanks

It's a fine balance between a lot of things. Why it fails would probably also vary between people, but for myself it's the sleep schedule that becomes the most important. You need consistancy of the time you go to bed.. and time enough to get the full effect of the second big REM cycle.

But also how tired you are going to bed, if you had alcohole, coffee or any other stimulating substances.. And your general mental state - feeling stressed f.ex can easily work against you. If your room is sufficiently dark, if you get uninterrupted sleep, the temperature in the room..

Basicly, look at ANY difference between before, when the techniques worked, and now, when they don't.

That aside you can also expect SOME natural fluctuation ie. dry spells. - So don't get to worried about it, if you can't find a reasonable explanation.

      EDIT: spelling.

This. If I don't sleep long enough and with a consistent schedule LDs happen rarely. Vacation means LD time for me I get to bed about the same time each night and sleep at least 8 hours, that seems to do the trick.

^^ Strange but true...assuming your sleep schedule has changed or become erratic, of course. In case it hasn't here's another thought:

Sometimes when techniques work, it can become easy to think that it is the technique making you lucid all by itself instead of the technique simply helping you become lucid. If you come to depend on the technique and leave behind your daywork and the fundamentals that form your lucid mindset (self-awareness, memory, expectation/intention), then you may have allowed the major factor of successful lucidity to lapse.

Lucidity is all about mindset, Iriba, and techniques only help with mindset, they do not create it. So be sure that your head is in the right place when you lay down to dream, and try not to simply expect your techniques to work for you because they did before.
