      Vivid or Lucid?

Today after coming home after a picnic I took a nap, and I don't remember how I ended up here but I was standing in my living room "where I was taking my nap", and it was really really vivid, I didn't exactly notice I was dreaming, but eventually it seemed as if I knew, I was trying to think of rainbows because I didn't want it to be a scary dream. I kept plugging my nose and trying to breathe and was breathing still, so I figured it was a dream, It was my first ever complete success if it was lucid, I kept ending up in the same spot in my living room, every time i woke up and went back to sleep.

Definitely a lucid. Added bonus because it was vivid!

You could definitely use that nap dream sign as an advantage. Abuse it for lots more vivid lucids!

      Sweet (lucid) dreams..

Alright thanks, it was weird because I didn't feel like there was ever a "click" point where I knew I was dreaming, it felt like the whole dream I just knew I was. It also felt like it was never ending and it got to the point where I was slapping myself trying to wake myself up, and I kept ending back up in my living room and not actually being awake. It also felt like I didn't have much control almost as if I was just watching from the outside.

It happens to me in some lucids that there's never a "click", like you say, but I just seem to have started the dream already lucid. And the amount of control you have can vary a lot, but this was definitely a lucid

Some people believe there is something called "false lucids", where you dream that you are lucid but your "waking self" is not there. It is a controversial topic, so I'll just include a link to a thread discussing the topic so that you can reach your own conclusion:

Personally, if I know I'm dreaming and act accordingly, I count it as lucid, specially as a way to keep my motivation up.

Interesting, I guess i'll just look at it as progress XD because i'm not really sure it was a lucid after reading that to be honest.

Some would count it as lucid and some wouldn't, but all would count that dream as progress. Actually, the first thing I thought when I read your post was "What a cool dream!" so keep up the good job and ask around if you need any help!
