Question What should I be doing on top of DJ'ing?

      Hi everyone,

I'm an on and off lucid dreamer. I'll take breaks between really trying to gain lucidity and then give up and try again in a couple months. This time I really want to stick to it. I've only had about maybe 2 lucid dreams in the 3 on and off years of trying to gain it.

Now that I'm back on track, I've been recording dreams back in my DJ and I want to know from the community what works from them best to gain lucidity. I've read the other posts and stickies on attaining lucidity but I prefer community feedback

Before I just did finger through palm, checking the time twice and plugging my nose at random parts of the day. Didn't gain lucidity during the period in which I did that.

Then I moved on to just trying to be super aware at random points in the day, no luck there either.

Can anyone help out and share their personal experiences?

I would pick a reliable RC and stick with just that one, and have one back up. I normally use a digital watch, and then will use something else as a backup. You want your initial RC to be a reliable one, though (either digital watch or reading text, something that has been demonstrated to work over and over again) and your follow up to be something that works consistently for you, as a means of confirming lucidity beyond doubt (if you really need such a thing). Often the situation itself will be reality check enough.

I would also suggest doing a WBTB and LaBerge's MILD. The WBTB can be pretty good on it's own, with an intention to notice dream signs and become lucid in the dream state. You should also try to keep a consistent sleep schedule, if you can.
