      Lucid dream routine

Do you guys know a good routine for lucid dreaming. I don't ask what do you eat or how much time do you sleeps I ask how many thing related for lucid dreams we can do to maximize the chances of having a wild or having a dild/mild/deild or whatever techniques. For examples do meditation twice a day or do many reality check. Something like that. Because everyday I tell to myself that from that moment I'll be fully focused on my dreams but I always do the same thing everyday, two time a day I Meditate do reality check when I remember and practice Ada there'sother thing to do that I missed?

Ironically, I do very little to prep for lucid dreaming. I think everyone is different so it takes awhile to learn what works best for you. For me, THE MOST important thing is to WANT to dream and want to remember the dreams, and journalling which re-enforces that desire. I've dispensed with virtually everything else. Early on I did more RC practice, but now I am more apt to just recognize dream signs and become lucid w/o any practice.

Yeah, I believe the most important thing is to want and be consistent In the practice, for example I did all the possibile things to becoming lucid all the time. I have had only some moments full of lucid dreams but the rest of the time nothing. Now from some days I concentrate only on Ada and I have had more results

I feel the need to say something that really bothers me when people mention reality checks as a routine, or as something you should be doing constantly: I don't think that's right. Reality checks are suposed to be something that breaks routine, and not routine themselves. They have to be significant, I feel they are much better used as something reactive and not proactive. For instance, if you see something strange you do a reality check, and then really think about the results of that reality check. With this you've broken the routine of passive awareness that so often makes us miss lucids. I actually think you are better thinking about this "when I see something strange, I'll do a reality check," constantly, than making reality checks constantly. If you're doing constant reality checks, then I feel there's a good chance of them becoming meaningless, because soon you'll not really pay attention anymore.

But I'm pretty new at this, so I might be wrong.

I think there's difference between do reality checks constantly and don't pay attention to it because you do them constantly to transfer them in your dreams but of course you have to pay to attention to it and do it mechanically because you'd miss lucid dreams because even in your dreams eventually you'll not pay attention. What I want to ask is what things the people do to achieve lucidity for example I Meditate twice a day, I do reality checks when I remember and practice Ada constantly and for now the results aren't so good because i'm not fully focused on it. And I want to know if there's something particular that I miss that might help improve some or all aspects of dream (recall, vividness, stabilization, lucidity, possibility to do some technique like dild/wild/deild/mild ecc.)

If I really want to LD, I have to keep my dream journal for a few days and really get some good sleep, especially the night before the actual LD. Since I have not the best sleep this is usually the tricky part. If I have a long vacation this usually does the trick to get a LD every other night without any further "work".

My RCing is just as RaveCrazedDave described it, I only do them when something odd strikes me. If I see a silly number plate on a car, I do a RC and think about it for a moment, try to recall what I did 15 minutes before. If I notice a house in an unusual color, I do a RC. etc...

I did the robotic RCs quite a while and it got me two LDs, so I can't say they are worthless or harming in any way. The problem to me was, since I was absolutely not expecting the RC to work the sensation of breathing through my closed nose woke me up instantly in one of those LDs... so kind of counter productive.
Usually, If I RC in a dream I am already aware it might be dream and it won't startle me that much if it works
