FIRST LD EVER!!!! Need help also

Hey guys!! So I've been trying desperately to lucid dream for about 8 months now. I've been completely unsuccessful. Last night, was the night. I realized, hmm why do i have 7 fingers. And it clicked. The first thing I did was steal some dudes truck and floor the thing.

Heres the weird part. This Lucid dream was overlapped. It was as if I was having a normal dream in which i was dreaming of lucid dreaming; and I still managed to be able to control it.

So I don't know how to spawn cars, or bikes. Whenever I try to think about spawning them, the lucid dream ends. Funny thing is since the dream is sorta overlapped, when the lucid dream ends, i just go back to the normal dream and do it again. I went in and out of lucid dreams about 3 times last night.

I wasn't in FULL control, but i had about 85-90%. And the dream was pretty clear too. Now, for a first time experience, I was MORE than happy. And still I managed to keep my happiness under control so I wouldn't wake myself up.

It was last night that I was so close to quitting this nonsense, but I'm never giving up now!

So questions are: If I want to spawn/make an item or person appear, how exactly do i do it (and if you say visualization of it, can you explain how to do so without ending the dream)

      - is there anyway to lengthen the length of the dream

      Congratz on your Lucid Dream

The "overlapping," as you say, is made up of false awakenings. Ultimately there is no such thing as an "overlapping" of dreams, FAs are just changes in scenery. Because of that, we can safely assume that the fact that you "woke up" when trying to summon something is not a real problem; it was most likely proper to the LD that you had (in the same way, some LDs tend to be easier to control than others). So if you dismiss it it shouldn't happen again in future LDs.
I wouldn't worry about it and get on with the next LD

Really you can spawn things any way you like but a good, easy way to do it is simply to look for it somewhere out of your sight, expecting to find it there. For example look around a corner with the intend to find whatever you want there.

To increase dream time, you can stabilize the dream (look it up!) multiple times during the LD, maybe send out a few vocal commands to the dream too, like "This dream is lasting longer than any other dream I had!".

      Kimura, no need to bump.

First of all, congrats to your first LD

What you describe as overlapping dreams and going in and out of non-lucids and lucids, I would call a DEILD.

DEILD is when one LD ends and you realize you are still dreaming and get lucid again. Either in a non-lucid, or in the time between dreams. That is great, because it means that you kept your awareness for long time, and it lasted even after your lucid ended. If you keep that on your mind (that you are always dreaming : P), you can chain your LDs into long chains, same way as you did this time.

In a LD, you can have great control or have none. It does not matter, it's still a lucid. And as Higat says, best is not to summon things or people. But to KNOW that they are someplace. Like you think to yourself "I'm going to get in that red car just behind this corner". Then you walk there and get in your car. It will be there, because you KNEW it is already there. This is a great way to pull things out of your pocket. Anything that you need is always there.
