      Teaching DCs to LD ?

So I had dream last night where me and a few fellow Soldiers were on an airliner going TDY somewhere and the plane crash landed on a large city highway. We all made it out ok but were worried about notifying our chain of command. I noticed my cellphone was not working ( a dream sign for me) and became aware. Confirmed with a hand RC and told the 2 others that this was a dream and that they didnt have anything to worry about. They looked at me puzzled and didnot believe me. I did a few things like levitate and put my finger through my hand. At this point they were convinced but wanted me to teach them how to LD. My first thought was to fly away and do my thing, but decided to continue the conversation. I first told them that they were not real, just DCs generated by my subconscious. I then tried to get them to do some various RCs but all failed. They couldnt levitate or do anything one couldnt do IWL. We all got frustrated and I then told them lets go find some women. They agreed and we went into the city. I got wrapped up in the plot and lost awareness.
When I woke this morning I was thinking if it was posible to teach a DC how to do these things ? Has anyone done this?

Perhaps go into the experience without assuming that these DCs you meet are actually just subconscious creations without any validity outside of your own mind. Perhaps projecting the idea that they aren't real is affecting the experience. Instead, ask them who they are and treat them like equals. Perhaps your experiments will be a bit more successful.

I do this often. My reference is Peter Pan. I take the DC by the hand and slowly start levitating and they come along with me. To reinforce this, I'll say something like "You can fly if you believe you can." So, it's not so much teaching them as it is convincing them to believe in the magic. And you do that by leading by example, with confidence and maybe a sense of mystery. One of my favorite words to describe it is the Italian word sprezzatura.

In general, I've learned to be gentle with DCs to get them to cooperate. Sometimes it slips, but I prefer not to say something like "You're not real." I think it's more useful to say: "This is a dream and we can do anything." Stating thing with "we" instead of "I" and "you" will create a friendly, cooperative rapport.

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
